Don't forget that once you're approved, you'll get backpay for all the weeks you were waiting as long as you filed your weekly claims. So even though the waiting sucks, you won't lose out on the money.
Just remember to keep documenting your job search activities during this waiting period too. When you do get approved, you'll need to show you've been actively looking for work the whole time.
I used Claimyr when I had questions about stopping my benefits properly. Really helpful to actually talk to someone who could confirm I was doing everything right. The peace of mind was worth it.
Bottom line - you're doing the right thing by asking and being careful. Report your last partial week accurately, then stop filing when you're working full time. Washington ESD makes this part pretty straightforward.
I'm dealing with a similar situation right now with a nerve condition. Applied for SSDI two months ago and still collecting UI. Washington ESD hasn't said anything about it yet but I'm worried they will. Anyone know if there's a time limit on how long you can do both?
If you do call, be prepared for a long wait. Maybe try that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier - seems like it could save a lot of frustration.
One more thing to consider - if you're approved for disability, you might be eligible for vocational rehabilitation services that could help you transition to a different type of work that accommodates your limitations. This could be a bridge between unemployment and full disability benefits.
For anyone wondering about timing - your weekly benefit amount stays the same throughout your benefit year, even if you get a new job and then lose it again. They don't recalculate based on more recent wages until you start a new claim.
Bottom line - if you made around $50k, expect somewhere in the $350-450 range for your weekly benefit. The exact amount depends on how your earnings were distributed across the quarters in your base year.

Try reaching out to local news stations too. Sometimes they do stories about Washington ESD delays and that can put pressure on them to respond faster. Worth a shot.

•That's actually not a bad idea. The media attention might at least bring awareness to how broken the system is.

I used that Claimyr thing mentioned earlier when I was having similar issues. Got connected to Washington ESD in like 3 hours instead of weeks of trying. Definitely worth checking out their demo video to see if it's right for your situation.
