One last thing - if you move or change your address while on unemployment, make sure you update that in your account right away. Washington ESD sends important mail and you don't want to miss anything.
Alright I think everyone covered the basics pretty well. @OP you should be all set to file your claim now. Just remember to file weekly claims every Sunday and keep up with your job search requirements. Good luck!
The worst part is not being able to get any real information about timeline or status. Washington ESD's customer service is practically non-existent.
This is why services like Claimyr exist - because the regular system is so broken that people are willing to pay just to talk to someone.
Just remember that once your first payment comes through, the subsequent ones should be much more predictable. Usually every week like clockwork if you keep filing your claims on time.
Sending good vibes! Hope you see that payment soon. The waiting game is brutal but you're doing everything right by staying on top of your weekly claims.
Reading all this makes me grateful I had help navigating the system. I used one of those callback services (Claimyr I think?) when I was having trouble reaching Washington ESD about my claim status. Definitely worth it when you're stressed about money and can't get through on the phone.
Bottom line: based on what you've described, you have a decent chance of qualifying. The hour reduction from full-time to 4 hours per week is pretty clearly a substantial change that would make continuing employment unreasonable. Just make sure you document everything and be thorough in your application. Good luck!

Just saw this thread and wanted to mention that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier - I finally tried it last week and actually got through to Washington ESD on the first try. Saved me so much time compared to calling myself.

•Good to hear another positive review. Might be worth it if I end up needing to talk to them about my case.

Hope this works out for you. The most important thing is having a solid paper trail showing you tried everything else before quitting. Washington ESD really wants to see that you made good faith efforts to keep working.

•That seems to be the consistent advice from everyone. I'm going to spend this week documenting everything properly before making any decisions.
