If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! This gives me a much better idea of what to expect.

One last thing - keep all your documentation about job searches, interviews, etc. Washington ESD can audit your claim at any time and you need to prove you were actively looking for work during every week you claimed benefits.

0 coins

Good point. I'll make sure to keep detailed records of everything.

0 coins

Exactly. Better to over-document than get hit with an overpayment demand later because you couldn't prove your job search activities.

Ellie Kim

Bottom line for your dad: file for regular unemployment benefits through Washington ESD, meet all the job search requirements, and don't let anyone tell him he's too old to receive benefits. Age discrimination in unemployment is illegal.

0 coins

Perfect summary! This thread has been really helpful for understanding his options.

0 coins

Agreed. The system isn't perfect but the benefits are there for people who qualify, regardless of age.

One more thing - if your dad worked for a large company, they might have offered voluntary separation packages that could affect his unemployment eligibility. Make sure Washington ESD knows about any severance or separation agreements.

0 coins

He didn't get any severance, just a layoff notice. But good point about making sure Washington ESD has all the details.

0 coins

Yes, being completely honest about the separation circumstances is crucial for avoiding issues later.

I used TurboTax last year and it walked me through the unemployment tax stuff pretty well. Just make sure you have your 1099-G before you start.

0 coins

That's what I'm planning to use too. Hopefully it makes it straightforward.

0 coins

Most tax software handles unemployment income automatically once you enter the 1099-G info. Pretty painless.

Thanks everyone for all the help! This thread has been super informative. I feel much better about tackling my taxes now.

0 coins

Glad we could help! Don't stress too much about it - the tax bite probably won't be as bad as you think.

0 coins

Agreed! I was panicking for nothing. Time to get this done.

Last thing - don't be surprised if your claim goes into 'adjudication' status. It seems like half of all claims get flagged for additional review these days, even when there's no real issue. Just be patient and provide any documents they request quickly.

0 coins

It varies widely - anywhere from a few days to several weeks depending on the issue and Washington ESD's workload. The key is to respond to any requests for information immediately.

0 coins

And if you get stuck in adjudication limbo, that's when services like Claimyr can really help you get through to someone who can move your claim along.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I'm filing my claim tonight and feel much more confident about the process now. Really appreciate the community here helping each other out.

Good luck! Come back and let us know how it goes.

We've all been there. Hope your claim processes smoothly!

One more tip - if you ever have payment issues, calling first thing Monday morning around 8am gives you the best chance of getting through to Washington ESD. That's when they have the most agents available.

0 coins

Or use that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Way less frustrating than trying to time your calls perfectly.

0 coins

True, that's probably easier than playing the timing game with the phone lines.

0 coins

Hope this thread helped clear up the confusion! Washington ESD definitely pays weekly, not biweekly. Just stay consistent with your weekly claim filing and you should see regular deposits.

This has been super helpful! Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and tips.

Glad we could help. The unemployment system is confusing enough without having to guess about basic stuff like payment timing.
