Just want to echo what others have said about Claimyr if you need to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD. I used them last month when I was stuck in adjudication hell and they got me through to an agent within a few hours. Way better than spending entire days trying to call yourself. The video demo on their site really shows how it works if you're curious.
Final reminder - keep detailed records of EVERYTHING. Every job you apply for, every contact with Washington ESD, every document you submit. If there's ever a question or dispute about your claim, having good records can save you a lot of headaches.
UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know I finally got through to Washington ESD using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Turns out my claim was randomly selected for income verification and they needed me to submit pay stubs from my last job. The agent said this happens to about 10% of claims and there's no way to know unless you call. My payment should process within 48 hours now that I've submitted the documents.
Glad you got it sorted out! This thread has been really helpful. I'm bookmarking it in case I run into payment delays in the future. It's crazy how many different things can cause problems with unemployment payments.
Just remember that filing your weekly claim is basically certifying that you're following all the unemployment requirements. Take it seriously because false information can result in penalties or having to pay back benefits.
One last tip - if you're on standby status with your employer, the weekly claim process is a bit different. You'll need to report your standby status each week. Just mentioning in case that applies to your situation.
If you get stuck and need to talk to someone, good luck getting through on the phone. I must have called 200 times before I found out about Claimyr - that service actually works for getting through to a real person.

One thing that caught me off guard - if you work part time while collecting unemployment, it can extend your benefit year but you still only get 26 weeks total of payments. The weeks just get spread out more.

•Interesting, I didn't know that. So part time work doesn't necessarily hurt your benefits?

•Right, Washington ESD has partial benefit rules. You can work up to a certain amount and still get reduced unemployment payments.

Bottom line: 26 weeks is your standard limit in Washington, no extensions currently available, make sure you file weekly claims on time, and start job searching immediately. That's the reality of unemployment benefits right now.

•Perfect summary, thank you! I feel much more prepared to navigate this process now.

•Good luck with your job search! The 26 weeks should give you enough time to find something decent if you stay focused.
