One last thing - if you do use Claimyr, they can also help with other Washington ESD issues like checking on adjudication status or getting answers about job search requirements. It's not just for card problems.
This whole thread just shows how broken the unemployment system is. People shouldn't have to jump through this many hoops just to get their benefits.
For anyone dealing with employer contests or adjudication issues, I found that having all your documentation ready really helps. Pay stubs, termination letters, any written communication about your job loss - Washington ESD will want to see it all.
I'm still trying to get through to someone at Washington ESD to submit additional documentation. The phone system is impossible.
Try the Claimyr service - they can help you reach an actual agent instead of getting stuck in the phone maze.
Bottom line: your employer pays taxes into the unemployment system, Washington ESD pays your benefits from that fund, and your claim may affect your employer's future tax rates. But they're not writing you checks directly, and they can't prevent you from filing if you're eligible.
If you end up needing to call Washington ESD for any reason, I'd recommend trying that Claimyr service. I used it last month when my claim got stuck in adjudication and I needed to speak with someone urgently. Much easier than trying to get through on your own.
Bottom line: expect roughly 40-50% of your gross monthly income if you're a typical earner. Higher earners get less percentage-wise due to the weekly maximum, lower earners can get up to 60% or so. The exact formula is highest quarter wages divided by 26 weeks, capped at the maximum weekly benefit.

Just remember to keep filing your weekly claims even if your payment is delayed. Missing a week can cause all sorts of problems with your claim.

If you're really worried about timing, you can usually see the payment status change in your Washington ESD account before the money actually hits your bank. Look for it to change from 'pending' to 'paid'.

•I'll keep checking my account then. Thanks for all the help everyone!

•You should be fine, sounds like you're doing everything right. The first payment is always the most nerve-wracking.
