If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

COVID unemployment was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Don't expect anything like that again unless there's another global pandemic. But regular benefits should still help you get by while job hunting.

Makes sense. I'm just glad there's something available while I look for work.

0 coins

Exactly the right attitude. Use it as a bridge to your next opportunity, not a long-term solution.

One more thing - if you run into any problems with your claim, don't wait around hoping it fixes itself. The sooner you address issues with Washington ESD, the faster they get resolved. I learned this the hard way.

0 coins

Good luck! Hope your claim goes through smoothly. Most do if you have straightforward employment history.

And remember, if you need to reach Washington ESD quickly for any reason, that Claimyr service is there as an option. Much better than the endless phone runaround most people experience.

The most important thing is to file your weekly claim every week, even if your payment is delayed. If you miss filing, you could lose that week's benefits entirely.

0 coins

Good point. I'll make sure to keep filing even if payments are slow.

0 coins

Exactly. The filing deadline is more important than the payment timing. Payments can be delayed but missed filings can't be recovered.

Update: Just got my first payment! It hit Wednesday morning like everyone said it would. Thanks for all the info in this thread.

0 coins

Great news! Wednesday is pretty typical for first-time filers. Should be more consistent going forward.

0 coins

Awesome! Now you know what to expect each week. Just keep filing on time and you should be good.

One more consideration - if your severance puts you over the income threshold for any other assistance programs you might be eligible for, factor that into your decision. But from a pure Washington ESD unemployment perspective, you should be fine to take both.

0 coins

I hadn't thought about other programs. I'll look into that too. Thanks for all the help everyone!

Final advice - keep excellent records of everything related to your layoff, severance agreement, and unemployment claim. If any questions come up later during your claim period, you'll want to have all the documentation ready.

0 coins

Will do. I'm going to scan everything and keep it organized just in case.

0 coins

hope everything works out for you OP! the whole process sucks but at least you took the first step by filing

0 coins

thanks everyone for all the advice and support, really helps to know other people have been through this

keep us updated on how it goes!

One last thing - make sure you understand the difference between being fired and being laid off when you talk to ESD. They're completely different situations legally and it matters for your claim.

0 coins

yeah i was definitely fired not laid off, they made that pretty clear unfortunately

0 coins

That's fine, just be clear about the circumstances when they ask. Fired for performance issues is very different from fired for misconduct.

Been following this thread and wanted to add - even if you think you might not qualify, it's still worth applying. The worst they can do is say no, and you might be surprised. I thought I wouldn't qualify due to some complicated employment situation but ended up getting approved.

0 coins

This is good advice. Sometimes the eligibility rules are more flexible than they seem, especially if you have unusual circumstances.

0 coins

Agreed. I had a weird situation with multiple part-time jobs and thought I wouldn't qualify, but Washington ESD was able to combine all my wages to meet the requirements.

0 coins

Final thought for OP - once you get approved and start receiving benefits, make sure you keep doing your job searches and filing your weekly claims on time. Missing even one weekly claim can cause your benefits to stop, and it's a hassle to get them restarted.

0 coins

Good reminder! I'll set up calendar alerts to make sure I don't forget to file each week.

0 coins

Smart idea. I use a recurring reminder on my phone every Sunday to file my weekly claim. Makes it much easier to remember.
