For anyone still waiting - double check that you're filing your weekly claims correctly. I was making mistakes on mine and didn't realize it was delaying my payments.
Bottom line - if everything goes perfectly, expect first payment around week 3-4. If there are any complications, could be 6-8 weeks or longer. Plan accordingly and don't rely on benefits coming quickly.
For anyone still reading this thread - I just want to mention that if you used to work in a different state, that can sometimes complicate your Washington claim. There are interstate agreements but it's worth asking about if you've moved recently.
Just filed my claim last week and already got my first payment. The process was actually easier than I expected once I gathered all my employment information.
Don't forget that if you disagree with your benefit amount determination you can appeal it. Washington ESD sometimes makes mistakes in their calculations.
One more tip - if you're getting close to the end of your benefits, document EVERYTHING about your job search. Keep records of every application, every contact, every interview. If you end up needing to appeal any decisions or apply for other programs, having detailed records will help.
btw that claimyr thing someone mentioned earlier - i tried it when i had issues with my claim and it actually worked. saved me from sitting on hold for hours. might be worth it if you need to talk to someone at washington esd about your remaining benefit time

Don't stress too much about making it perfect. Thousands of people file for unemployment every week and most get through the process just fine. The Washington ESD staff are used to dealing with confused applicants and they're generally helpful when you can reach them.

•Thanks for the reassurance. I've been really anxious about messing this up somehow.

•You've got this! Just take it one step at a time and don't hesitate to ask questions if you get stuck.

Last piece of advice - keep copies of everything. Screenshot confirmation pages, print important documents, save emails. If anything goes wrong later you'll want to have proof of what you submitted and when.
