Update us when you hear back! Always curious how long these things actually take in practice vs what they tell you.
I got through to Washington ESD using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Agent told me that claims are taking 2-4 weeks on average right now, with some taking longer if they need additional verification. At least I got a real timeline instead of just guessing.
The 26 week thing is such BS when you consider how long it actually takes to find decent work these days. Employers take forever to make decisions and then want you to do like 5 interviews for basic jobs.
For what it's worth, I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier and the agent I talked to was really helpful about explaining benefit duration and what happens when you run out. She even told me about some job training programs I didn't know about. Sometimes you just need to talk to an actual person who knows the system.
Don't forget that if you do find work but it's part-time or lower wages, you might still be able to collect partial benefits. Washington ESD has a partial benefit program.
Bottom line for OP - you'll most likely get the full 26 weeks since you worked consistently for 2 years. Use the time wisely for job searching and don't panic about the deadline. Most people find work within that timeframe.
This thread has been super helpful! I'm in a similar situation and was totally confused about the timing. Sounds like the key is just being honest and reporting everything accurately.
One more thing to consider - if you're getting any kind of severance pay or vacation payout from your previous job, that might affect your benefits even after you start your new job. Make sure to report any delayed payments from your former employer.

Just want to add - if your claim does get denied for any reason, you have the right to appeal. Don't give up if the initial decision doesn't go your way. Sometimes they get it wrong the first time.

•Good to know there's an appeal process. Hopefully I won't need any of this but I feel much better prepared now.

Last thing - if you do get fired and need help navigating the Washington ESD system, definitely consider using Claimyr if you're having trouble reaching them. I was skeptical at first but it really does work for getting through to actual agents when you need answers about your claim.

•That's what these forums are for. We've all been through similar situations and it helps to share what we've learned.
