Just remember that even if there's an adjudication delay, you can still get retroactive benefits back to when you first filed if approved. Don't let processing time discourage you from filing promptly.
Good luck with your claim! Sounds like you have all the information you need to file a strong application. Remember to be thorough but honest, and don't let the employer's characterization of the termination discourage you from applying.
Also remember that if you quit your job voluntarily or got fired for misconduct, you might not be eligible for benefits at all. Washington ESD will investigate the reason for your job separation and make a determination.
Don't forget to keep track of all your job search activities in detail. They can audit your records at any time and if you can't prove you met the requirements, they can make you pay back benefits. I keep a spreadsheet with dates, company names, contact info, and what type of activity it was.
This whole thread has been super helpful. I've been putting off filing because I didn't know where to start but now I feel confident about the process. Going to do it this afternoon.
Glad we could help! Remember that after you file, it can take a few days to a few weeks to hear back depending on whether your claim needs any additional review. Don't panic if you don't hear anything immediately - that's normal.
One last tip - if you have direct deposit set up, benefits usually show up Wednesday mornings. If you're getting a debit card, it takes longer to arrive by mail.
Good luck with your application! The process seems overwhelming at first but once you get through the initial filing, the weekly claims become routine. You've got this!

I'm going on week 6 with no payment and no explanation. My claim status just says 'under review' with no details. This is affecting my ability to pay for basic necessities. The lack of communication from Washington ESD is unacceptable.

•Have you tried using Claimyr to get through to someone? I've seen several people mention it in this thread and it might be your best bet for getting answers.

•I'll look into it. At this point I'm willing to try anything to get some information about what's happening with my claim.

For what it's worth, once the payments start coming, they're usually pretty reliable. The initial wait is brutal but after that it's mostly smooth sailing as long as you meet all the requirements.

•That's reassuring to hear. Right now it feels like this process will never end.

•Hang in there. I know it's stressful but most claims do get processed eventually. The waiting is the hardest part.
