If your claim is taking longer than expected, it might be worth trying to contact Washington ESD directly. I know the phones are terrible but sometimes you can get through early in the morning or right when they open.
I've tried calling at 8am sharp when they open and still can't get through. The system is completely jammed.
This is exactly why I ended up using Claimyr - saved me from burning hours every day trying to get through on my own. Sometimes you just need to talk to an actual person to find out what's happening.
Just want to echo what others have said about filing weekly claims while you wait. I almost made the mistake of thinking I didn't need to do anything until my claim was approved. Thank goodness I read this forum!
Does anyone know if the 26 weeks can ever be extended during economic downturns or anything like that?
Just as a heads up, you'll need to create a SecureAccess Washington (SAW) account if you don't already have one. That's how you access the Washington ESD online services.
Remember that unemployment benefits are temporary - in Washington you can collect for up to 26 weeks in most cases. Use the time wisely to find your next job rather than just relying on the benefits.
Try using Claimyr if you need to follow up on your adjudication status. I was able to speak with someone at Washington ESD who explained exactly what they were waiting for in my case. Made the whole process much less stressful.
Bottom line: Washington ESD cares more about WHY the employment ended than the exact mechanics of who initiated the separation. Focus on documenting the hostile work environment and you should be fine.

Bottom line - if you were legitimately laid off and have your paperwork in order, you should see your first payment within 3-4 weeks of filing. The system isn't perfect but it does work for most people.

Good luck with your claim! Most people stress about it more than necessary. The vast majority of legitimate claims get approved without major issues.
