If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Remember that unemployment benefits are taxable income so you might want to have taxes withheld from your payments. You can set that up when you file your weekly claims.

Good point about taxes. I'll definitely set up withholding so I don't get stuck with a big tax bill later.

0 coins

Smart thinking. It's only 10% federal withholding but it helps avoid surprises at tax time.

Just to summarize for you - you likely qualify based on your earnings, make sure to apply ASAP, register with WorkSource, keep good job search records, and file your weekly claims on time. You've got this!

Perfect summary! I feel much more confident about the process now. Thanks to everyone who helped answer my questions.

If you have any issues with your claim or questions about eligibility, Washington ESD has local offices but they're usually pretty busy. The online system is really your best bet for most things, but sometimes you need to talk to someone. That's where services like Claimyr can be helpful for getting through.

Are the local offices taking walk-ins now or do you need appointments?

0 coins

I think most require appointments now. Check the Washington ESD website for your local office's current policy.

Just wanted to add that if you're filing right after a layoff, you might be eligible for benefits immediately. The waiting week was eliminated in Washington, so you can potentially get paid for your first week of unemployment if you file quickly and meet all the requirements.

0 coins

That's great to hear. I was worried about having to wait a full week before getting any benefits.

0 coins

Yeah, Washington is better than a lot of states in that regard. Just make sure you file your weekly claims on time to keep everything moving.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I feel much more confident about handling this transition now. It's nice to know other people have gone through the same thing successfully.

You're welcome! Best of luck with your new job. Remember to keep checking your Washington ESD account occasionally even after you stop filing.

And if you ever need to reach Washington ESD again for any reason, remember that Claimyr option - saved me a lot of time and frustration!

This thread should be pinned! So much useful information about transitioning off unemployment benefits. I wish I had found something like this when I was dealing with the same situation.

Agreed! Everyone here has been so helpful. This community is great for navigating Washington ESD issues.

For anyone still confused about the 26 weeks - that's the maximum you can receive in a benefit year. Some people might not qualify for the full 26 weeks depending on their work history, but most people who qualify for regular UI get the full duration.

0 coins

How do they determine if you get less than 26 weeks? I worked full-time for three years before getting laid off.

0 coins

With three years of full-time work you should definitely qualify for the full 26 weeks. It's usually people with limited work history who might get fewer weeks.

0 coins

Just want to add that the 26 weeks is per benefit year, so if you use up all your weeks and then work again for a sufficient period, you could potentially qualify for a new claim later. But there are specific requirements about wages earned and time worked.

0 coins

Good point! I had to requalify after working for about 8 months. The process was much faster the second time since I already had an account set up.

0 coins

Exactly, and if you do need to contact Washington ESD about requalifying or any other questions, that Claimyr service people mentioned really does work. Saved me hours of calling.

0 coins

I had to use claimyr.com to finally get through to someone at Washington ESD who could explain these classification details to me. The automated system and website just don't provide enough explanation for complex issues like this. Worth checking out if you need to speak with an actual person.

I keep hearing about this service. Might be worth it just to get definitive answers about my specific situation.

0 coins

Yeah, sometimes you need to talk to a human to get clarity on these administrative details. The website just doesn't cover everything.

0 coins

Final thought - regardless of the exact definition, the key thing is that institutional unemployment generally indicates your job loss was due to external economic factors rather than personal performance or misconduct. This is typically favorable for your unemployment claim eligibility and shouldn't cause any issues with benefit approval.

0 coins

Glad we could help clarify things. These administrative terms can be confusing but they're usually more neutral than they initially seem.

0 coins

Agreed. The most important thing is that your claim processes correctly, and institutional unemployment classification typically supports rather than hinders that process.
