If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Been reading about other states that have better systems. Some places process claims in 2-3 weeks max. Washington needs to modernize their whole operation.

Which states are doing it better? Might be worth looking into if I have to move for work anyway.

0 coins

Technology upgrades cost money and require legislative approval. Washington ESD has been asking for system modernization funding for years.

At this point I just want to talk to a human being who can look at my claim and tell me what's wrong. Is that too much to ask?

0 coins

Or use Claimyr - they specialize in getting you connected to Washington ESD agents. That's how I finally got my adjudication resolved.

0 coins

Never heard of Claimyr before but at this point I'm willing to try anything. Thanks for the suggestion.

Quick update for anyone following this thread - I finally got through to Washington ESD using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. The agent confirmed my claim is processing normally and should be approved within the next week. She also clarified some job search requirements that weren't clear on the website. Definitely worth using if you need to talk to someone.

0 coins

That's awesome! Thanks for the update. I'll definitely keep that option in mind if I need it.

Good to hear a success story with that service. I was skeptical but might try it myself if I run into issues.

Final thought - approval rates for legitimate layoffs are actually pretty high. Washington ESD has gotten better at processing straightforward claims quickly. It's the edge cases and people with complicated work histories that tend to have problems. Your retail job layoff due to store closure should be pretty cut and dried.

Thanks everyone for all the advice and reassurance. This thread has been incredibly helpful and made me feel much more confident about my claim.

The biggest benefit is obviously the money but don't overlook the job search resources. WorkSource has resume help, interview prep, and job matching services. It's actually required that you register with them within a few weeks of filing.

0 coins

Is WorkSource the same as Washington ESD or different?

0 coins

Different but connected. Washington ESD handles the benefits, WorkSource handles the job search assistance. You need both.

0 coins

Just remember you have to be able and available for work to keep getting benefits. If you go on vacation or get sick, you need to report that when you file your weekly claim. Being dishonest can lead to overpayment issues later.

0 coins

What if I have a job interview scheduled out of town? Do I need to report that?

0 coins

Job interviews are fine and actually count toward your job search requirements. It's vacation or being unavailable for work that you need to report.

One last tip - if you run into any issues during the application process or afterwards, don't waste time trying to get through on the phone. I mentioned Claimyr earlier and I can't recommend them enough. They got me connected to Washington ESD within 15 minutes when I had a problem with my weekly claim. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get things sorted out.

0 coins

I'll definitely keep that in mind. Hopefully I won't need it but good to know there's an option if I get stuck.

I'm curious about this Claimyr thing now too. Might be worth it just for peace of mind.

UPDATE: I went ahead and applied online this morning! It took about 45 minutes and wasn't as bad as I expected. Now I just have to wait to hear back. Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice and encouragement. I'll update again once I hear something.

Great job! Remember to start doing your job search activities right away even while you're waiting for approval. That way you're ready when your first weekly claim is due.

0 coins

Congratulations on getting it done! The hardest part is over. Now just be patient and keep looking for work.

Make sure you understand the difference between your weekly benefit amount and your maximum benefit amount. The weekly is what you get each week, but the maximum is the total you can receive during your benefit year.

0 coins

I didn't realize there was a maximum total amount! How do they calculate that?

0 coins

It's usually 26 times your weekly benefit amount, so if you get $400/week, your max would be around $10,400 for the year.

0 coins

The timing of when you file can actually affect your benefit calculation if you're close to a quarter boundary. Something to keep in mind if you're right at the end/beginning of a quarter.

0 coins

Interesting point. I'm planning to file this weekend, so I think I'm okay timing-wise.

0 coins

Yeah, you should be fine. It's more of an issue for people filing right around quarter changes.
