Had to use Claimyr myself last month when I couldn't get through to ask about my base period calculation. The regular phone system is just broken at this point. At least claimyr.com got me connected to someone who could actually explain my specific earnings situation.
Bottom line: if you've been working steadily for 8 months and earning decent wages, you'll probably qualify. The exact calculations matter, but most people with regular jobs who work more than a few months end up qualifying.
Just to summarize for the OP: Work history + wages in base period, lost job through no fault of your own, able and available to work, actively job searching, and register with WorkSourceWA. File your application online at esd.wa.gov and they'll determine your eligibility. Don't stress too much about whether you qualify - let Washington ESD make that determination.
The only time my payment was really delayed was when there was a system update at Washington ESD. Took an extra 2 days that week but they sent notifications about it.
Bottom line: File Sunday, get paid Tuesday/Wednesday. It's been consistent for me over 6 months. Don't stress too much about the exact timing - it'll come.

One last thing - make sure you have a direct deposit set up or know how you want to receive payments. It's faster than waiting for checks in the mail.

•Good point, I'll make sure to have my bank info ready when I file.

This whole thread should be bookmarked for anyone facing a layoff. Really comprehensive info here about the timing and process.

•Definitely! Way more helpful than trying to navigate the Washington ESD website on your own.
