I used Claimyr again recently when I had questions about my job search requirements and it was super helpful. Sometimes you just need to actually talk to someone who knows the rules instead of trying to figure it out from the website. The peace of mind is worth it when you're dealing with something this important.
The bottom line is there are definitely things that can disqualify you, but most people who apply in good faith end up getting benefits eventually, even if there are some bumps along the way. Don't let fear of disqualification stop you from applying if you think you might qualify.
For what it's worth, my accountant said business owner unemployment claims have been getting approved more frequently lately, especially post-COVID when so many small businesses failed through no fault of their own.
Good luck! Keep us posted on how it goes. There aren't enough success stories out there for business owners in this situation.
Thanks everyone for explaining this! I was worried I was running out of benefits way faster than I thought. Now I understand it's just showing how much time is left in my benefit year window.
One more thing to keep in mind - if you're getting close to the end of your benefit year but still have weeks payable remaining, you might want to talk to Washington ESD about filing a new claim. The timing can affect your benefits.
It depends on your earnings during your benefit year and what you'd qualify for on a new claim. Definitely worth getting advice from Washington ESD directly.
This is exactly the kind of situation where talking to an actual agent through something like Claimyr would be helpful - they can look at your specific situation and timeline
One last tip - keep detailed records of everything related to your injury and claim. Workers comp claims can get complicated and you'll want documentation of everything.

If your claim gets stuck in adjudication like mine did, you might want to check out that Claimyr service to actually reach someone at Washington ESD. I waited 2 months trying to get through on my own before using them to finally talk to an adjudicator about my case.

•2 months is insane! What was your adjudication issue about?

•They needed to verify why I left my previous job. Simple separation issue but took forever to resolve without being able to talk to anyone.

The most important thing is to file your claim immediately when you become unemployed. Even if you're not sure about your eligibility or benefit amount, file anyway. You can't get benefits for weeks before you file, so don't wait.

•My layoff isn't happening for another month but I'll definitely file right away when it does. Thanks for all the helpful info everyone!
