The maximum benefit in Washington is pretty decent compared to other states, but most people don't qualify for the full amount. Your $52k salary should put you in a reasonable range though - probably $350-450 per week if I had to guess.
Last thing - make sure you understand the able and available requirements. You have to be ready to work and actively seeking employment. Can't be too picky about jobs or they might question your eligibility.
You can look for management roles but also need to apply to other positions you're qualified for. They want to see you're genuinely trying to get back to work, not just waiting for the perfect job.
This whole thread is making me nervous about my own claim that just got approved yesterday! Sounds like 2-3 days is normal though.
I used Claimyr twice last year when I had payment issues and they were super helpful both times. Worth trying if you end up needing to call Washington ESD about this.
Been following this issue closely and I think the impact varies a lot by business type. Chain restaurants seem to adapt better than mom-and-pop places.
For anyone still struggling to reach Washington ESD by phone, I'd definitely recommend trying Claimyr. Worth it just to avoid the endless busy signals and disconnections.
Just checked and I'm now at 16 days since filing. Starting to wonder if I should call or wait it out a bit longer. Don't want to be a pest but also don't want to let something slip through the cracks.
16 days is still within normal range. I'd give it another week before calling, unless you see something specific that looks wrong in your online account.
Or try that Claimyr service if you want peace of mind. Sometimes just knowing exactly where you stand makes the wait more bearable.
Bottom line - Washington ESD processing times are unfortunately long right now, but most claims do eventually get processed. Keep filing weekly claims, respond to any requests promptly, and try to be patient. The system isn't perfect but it does work eventually.

Just remember to keep your job search logs even after you close the claim. Washington ESD can audit claims up to 5 years later and they'll want to see that documentation.

•5 years?? That seems excessive but good to know.

•Yeah it's in the fine print. Better safe than sorry with overpayment notices.

Congrats on the new job OP! The final weekly claim thing worked perfectly for me when I went back to work. No issues at all.
