My payment took exactly 21 days from when I filed my initial claim. I remember because I was counting every single day! Once it started though, the weekly payments came like clockwork. Hang in there, it's probably going to happen soon.
For anyone still having trouble reaching Washington ESD by phone, I found success using Claimyr recently. They handle the calling and wait times for you. Made the whole process much less stressful.
I thought it was worth it for the time and stress it saved me, but you can check their website at claimyr.com for current pricing. They also have a demo video that explains everything.
This thread has been really helpful! I was worried I only had a few weeks left but now I understand the 26-week system better. Thanks everyone for sharing your knowledge.
The quarterly earnings calculation can be tricky if you started working in the middle of a quarter. Make sure you understand which quarters count toward your base period when you file.
Bottom line: if you've worked steadily for 8 months and earned reasonable wages, you should qualify. Don't overthink it - just file your claim if you become unemployed and let Washington ESD determine your eligibility.
This has been a great discussion. It's amazing how many people don't understand the basic mechanics of unemployment insurance. Hopefully this thread helps others who have the same questions.

One thing that tripped me up - if you do any part-time work while collecting, you have to report it on your weekly claim. They'll reduce your benefit but you won't lose it entirely if it's under a certain amount.

•That's good to know. I might pick up some freelance work while looking for full-time.

honestly the biggest thing is just staying on top of your weekly claims and job search requirements. As long as you do that consistently, the money keeps coming.

•Agreed. It's really not that complicated once you get into the routine of it.
