Just want to add that if you're still collecting unemployment benefits, definitely set up the tax withholding now. It's so much easier than dealing with a big bill at tax time.
Update: I just checked my eServices account and found the tax withholding option! It was under the weekly claim section like everyone said. Thanks for all the help, this thread really eased my anxiety about the whole situation.
Actually, if you do need to call Washington ESD and can't get through, there's also Claimyr that basically gets you to the front of the phone queue. I used it when I had an overpayment issue that needed immediate attention. Much better than spending all day redialing.
I'm seeing Claimyr mentioned a few times now. Seems like a useful service if I get stuck.
Just wanted to add - don't be discouraged if the process seems overwhelming at first. Thousands of people successfully file for unemployment every week in Washington. Take it step by step and you'll get through it.
Payment schedule is weekly but the amount can vary week to week depending on what you report. If you work part time one week or have other income, your payment will be reduced for that week only.
Does vacation pay count as income that would reduce your benefits? I'm getting a vacation payout from my former employer.
Weekly but only if you meet all the requirements each week - file your claim, be available for work, and complete job search activities. Miss any of these and you won't get paid for that week.
The whole thing is a pain but it's worth it if you qualify. I got like $450 a week when I was unemployed last year, which was way better than nothing while I looked for a new job.
Thanks everyone for all the advice! I'm going to file my claim online today and start documenting everything like you suggested. Feeling a lot more confident about this now. I'll update if anything weird happens during the process.

This whole thread has been super helpful. One last question - if I refile and get denied for some reason, can I appeal like with a regular claim?

•Yes, the appeal process is the same. You have 30 days from the denial notice to file an appeal. Same rights as any other unemployment claim.

•Good to know. Hopefully it won't come to that but nice to know I have options.

Update: Just submitted my refiled claim! Thanks everyone for the help. The process was way easier than I expected. Now I just have to wait for them to process it.

•Great job getting it done! Remember to start filing your weekly claims once they give you the go-ahead.
