6 weeks in ESD adjudication hell - governor's office won't answer either
I'm losing my mind here. Been stuck in adjudication for SIX WEEKS now with absolutely zero movement or explanation. My bills are piling up, and I'm about to lose my apartment. I've called the ESD number literally 30+ times a day, either get a busy signal or that stupid automated message saying they're experiencing high call volume. I even tried contacting the governor's office thinking they might be able to push things along, but nobody answers there either! I worked at the same manufacturing plant for 8 years before getting laid off when they moved operations overseas. This is ridiculous! Do I just keep waiting and hope I don't get evicted first? Has anyone actually managed to get through to a human being at ESD lately?

Same boat here. I've been in adjudication for 7 weeks now. The system is completely broken. I've heard the governor's office is useless - they just refer you back to ESD who won't answer. Try contacting your state representative's office instead. Sometimes they can escalate things.

•Thanks for the suggestion. Did that actually work for you? And how do I even figure out who my state rep is?

•9 WEEKS?! I can't wait that long! I'll be evicted by then. There has to be something I can do...

Adjudication delays are frustrating but there are a few things you can try: 1. Check your ESD account to see if there are any alerts requesting additional information. Sometimes they need documents but don't clearly communicate this. 2. Send a message through the eServices portal - specifically mention financial hardship. While phone calls aren't getting answered, sometimes the messages do get responses within 3-5 business days. 3. Make sure you're still filing your weekly claims during adjudication - this is critical. 4. Contact your WorkSource office - occasionally they have direct channels to ESD representatives. Hang in there. The system is overwhelmed but they do eventually process claims. I know it's hard when bills are piling up.

•Thanks for these suggestions. I've been doing the weekly claims religiously, and there are no alerts in my account requesting anything. I'll try sending a message through the portal tonight and mention the financial hardship. Didn't think about WorkSource - I'll give them a call tomorrow.

ESD IS A COMPLETE JOKE!!!! I waited 11 WEEKS for adjudication and then they DENIED my claim for some BS reason about "insufficient work history" even though I worked the same job for 5 YEARS!!! Now I'm waiting ANOTHER 6 weeks for an appeal hearing. The whole system is DESIGNED to make you give up!!

•They don't even LET YOU in the offices anymore!!! Everything's "online" or "by phone" which is just code for "we don't want to help you" 😡😡😡

Hi there - I went through something similar in January. After 5 weeks of not being able to reach anyone, I tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) and they got me connected to an ESD agent in about 20 minutes. They have a system that navigates the phone tree and waits on hold for you, then calls you when they get an agent on the line. Worked perfectly for me and the agent was able to push my adjudication through that same day. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 My claim was stuck because of an employer response issue that wasn't visible on my account. Often they just need to ask you a few questions to move things forward.

•Never heard of this service before. Are they legitimate? Seems weird that there's a third party service just to reach ESD, but at this point I'm desperate enough to try anything.

•Yes, they're legit. I was skeptical too but it worked for me and several people in my former company. They just help you skip the phone wait time. The actual conversation is still directly between you and the ESD agent.

If your claim is stuck in adjudication for this long, it often means there's a specific issue they need to resolve. The most common causes are: - Your employer disputed something about your separation - There's a question about your availability for work - There's a discrepancy in your reported work history - You have wages from multiple states The key is getting someone on the phone who can tell you exactly what's holding things up. Once you know the specific issue, you can address it directly. I recommend calling right when they open at 8am - that's when your chances are best. Also, Thursdays and Fridays tend to have shorter wait times than Mondays and Tuesdays. Don't give up. Keep documenting all your attempts to contact them (dates/times). This can be helpful if you need to show you've been trying consistently to resolve the issue.

•I've been calling at 8am sharp for the past three weeks with no luck. I'm pretty sure my employer isn't disputing anything since we were all laid off when they moved operations overseas, but I guess I can't know for sure until I talk to someone. I'll try the Thursday/Friday approach this week.

Update: I just got through to ESD this morning after trying that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. It actually worked! Found out my claim was stuck because they needed to verify my identity (never told me this) and the agent was able to clear it on the spot. My payments should start processing in 48 hours. Just wanted to let you know there's hope!

•That's amazing news! I'm going to try that service today. So relieved to hear you got it resolved. Did they give you any back pay for all the weeks you were waiting?

•Yes, they're processing all 7 weeks I was waiting at once. The agent said I should see the deposit by Friday. Such a relief! Good luck with yours!
