Interview rescheduled - need to call back to confirm. Any advice?

Hey everyone, I just had my interview rescheduled and I need to call them back to confirm the new date. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Any tips on how to handle it or what to expect? I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing.

Ugh, I've been there. It's so frustrating when they reschedule on you. Make sure you ask why it was postponed - sometimes it can give you a clue about what's going on internally. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely ask about the reason. Any idea how long I should expect to wait on hold?

Last time I called, I was on hold for like an hour 😩 Bring a book or something to keep you busy while you wait!

An hour? You got lucky! I was on hold for THREE HOURS last month. The system is a joke 🤡

Pro tip: call first thing in the morning when they open. You'll have a much better chance of getting through quickly.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/eSz742AOvHc

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? No way, I'd rather wait on hold for free.

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

How does it work exactly? Do they just keep calling until they get through?

Yeah, basically. They have some kind of automated system that navigates the phone tree and waits on hold. When a real person picks up, it calls you. Pretty slick tbh.

When they reschedule, sometimes its becuz theyre backed up or short-staffed. dont take it personally, OP. just be flexible and professional when you call back.

That makes sense. I'll try to keep that in mind and not stress too much about it. Thanks!

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call them back ASAP. The sooner you confirm, the better. 2. Be polite but firm. Ask why it was rescheduled. 3. Make sure you have all your documents ready for the new date. 4. If the new date doesn't work for you, don't be afraid to say so. 5. Take notes during the call - write down the name of who you spoke to and any important details. 6. Ask if there's anything additional you should prepare for the rescheduled interview. 7. Confirm the new date and time at the end of the call. Remember, rescheduling happens all the time. It's not a reflection on you or your application. Stay calm and professional, and you'll be fine! 💪

Wow, this is super helpful! Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this out. I feel much more prepared now.

Great advice! I'd add: send a follow-up email summarizing what was discussed in the call. It creates a paper trail and shows you're on top of things.

am i the only 1 who thinks its unprofessional of THEM to reschedule? like, we have to jump through hoops but they can just change things whenever? smh

It sucks, but sometimes stuff happens. Better to reschedule than have an unprepared interviewer, right?

Quick question - did they give you a reason for the reschedule when they contacted you? That might give you a clue about what to expect.

They didn't actually. That's part of why I'm a bit worried. I'll make sure to ask when I call back.
