FINAL UPDATE: My claim was approved today! The senator's office definitely made the difference. All my back weeks were approved and payment is pending to my ReliaCard. For anyone else dealing with federal employment verification delays, don't wait 8 weeks like I did - contact your state representatives much earlier! Thanks to everyone who offered advice.
Great news! So glad it worked out for you. Did they give any explanation about why it took so long or what the specific hold-up was with the federal verification?
They said something about a backlog in the Federal Claims Control Center and that my agency (Department of Interior) is particularly slow with verifications. The UC examiner mentioned they're trying to improve the process, but federal agencies are still exempt from the normal response timelines that regular employers have to follow. At least it's resolved now!
Congratulations Emily! Your persistence really paid off. This is such a helpful thread for anyone dealing with federal employment UC issues. I'm saving your timeline and tips about contacting state senators early - that could save others weeks of waiting. It's ridiculous that the system works this way, but at least now we know the workarounds. Thanks for following up with the resolution!
i dont get why ur stressing so much. just go to the hearing and tell the truth. if you didn't do anything wrong you'll be fine. i've been through 3 of these hearings and won each time. the refs are actually pretty fair.
The issue isn't about telling the truth - I'm happy to do that. The problem is my severe anxiety about being in the same room with my former employer who was emotionally abusive. That's why I'm asking specifically about phone options.
I went through something very similar about 6 months ago - toxic boss, documented everything, won the first appeal, then she filed for reconsideration. The good news is that since you already won once with substantial evidence, you're in a strong position. Here's what worked for me: - Called the UC office immediately and requested a phone hearing due to "workplace harassment trauma" - they approved it same day - Organized all my emails chronologically and made a simple timeline - Practiced explaining the situation calmly in 2-3 minutes max - Had a friend listen to me rehearse so I wouldn't ramble during the hearing The reconsideration hearing was actually shorter than the original appeal because the referee already had the full case file. I just had to reaffirm my previous testimony and answer a few follow-up questions. Won again and my ex-boss finally gave up. You've got this! The documentation you mentioned is your strongest asset. Don't let her intimidate you into not participating - she's clearly hoping you'll just give up.
UPDATE: I managed to get through to someone at UC using that Claimyr service. The agent was able to see that I did answer NO to the work search question even though I did my activities. They put a note on my account and said my payment should process normally now. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for the help.
This is such a common issue and honestly the PA UC system really needs to be more user-friendly. I've been there with kids screaming in the background trying to file claims! One tip I learned is to actually print out or write down the questions ahead of time so you know what's coming. The three main ones at the end are: 1) able/available for work, 2) refused any work, and 3) completed work search activities. I keep a little cheat sheet by my computer now so I don't have to think when I'm stressed or distracted. Glad you got it resolved with Claimyr - that service has been a lifesaver for so many people here!
That's such a great idea about the cheat sheet! I'm definitely going to do that going forward. It's crazy how stressful these certifications can be when you're already dealing with job loss and then add kids into the mix. I'm so grateful this community exists - you all saved me from weeks of worry and probably delayed payments. The system really should have a way to edit answers or at least confirm before final submission, especially for questions that can trigger holds.
Hey just wondering did u get this resolved? Im having similar issues with PA UC and getting nowhere fast
Yes! Finally got it fixed! I used that Claimyr service to get through to someone yesterday and explained the whole situation. The rep was actually really helpful once I got them on the phone. She confirmed I did complete the RESEA meeting and put a note on my account. My payment was released this morning! The overpayment is still under appeal but at least my current benefits are coming through again. Such a relief after dealing with this stress for days!
I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm dealing with almost the exact same situation right now - got a letter saying I didn't attend my RESEA meeting even though I completed it over the phone 3 weeks ago. The counselor even sent me a follow-up email confirming everything was good to go. Now they're threatening to cut my benefits and I'm panicking because I have car payments due next week. Reading through all these responses gives me hope that this can actually be resolved. I'm going to file my appeal tonight and try that Claimyr service tomorrow if I can't get through by calling directly. It's insane that we have to jump through all these hoops when we're already doing everything they require. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - it really helps to know I'm not alone in this mess!

•Great news! Make sure you continue filing your weekly claims on time to keep the payments coming. Sunday or Monday is usually best to avoid processing delays.

Congrats on getting your payment! This is such great news to see. I'm currently in a similar situation - my claim review just finished yesterday and I can see a payment amount showing up, but no money on my card yet. Reading through everyone's experiences here is really helpful. It sounds like 2-3 business days is pretty standard, so I'll try to be patient. Thanks for sharing your update and letting us know the timeline worked out!
