Why is unemployment an issue - struggling to understand NYS Department of Labor system delays
I've been trying to figure out why unemployment seems to be such a complicated issue with NYS Department of Labor. Filed my claim 6 weeks ago after getting laid off from my warehouse job and it's been nothing but problems. First my claim sat in adjudication for 3 weeks with no explanation, then when it finally got approved I had issues with my weekly certifications not going through properly. Now I'm getting conflicting information about job search requirements - the website says one thing but the letter I got says something different. Why is unemployment such an issue to deal with? Is it supposed to be this hard to get benefits you've paid into? Feeling really frustrated and wondering if anyone else thinks the whole system is just broken.
