What was unemployment when trump was president - NYS Department of Labor historical rates question
I'm trying to understand the unemployment rates during the previous administration for a project I'm working on. Does anyone know where I can find historical NYS Department of Labor unemployment data from 2017-2021? I need to compare it to current rates but can't find reliable sources. My current claim got me curious about how these numbers have changed over time.

You can find historical unemployment data on the Bureau of Labor Statistics website. For New York specifically, the NYS Department of Labor also publishes monthly reports. Pre-pandemic, unemployment was around 3.5-4% nationally. In NY it was slightly higher, around 4.2% in 2019. Then COVID hit and everything went crazy - unemployment spiked to over 14% nationally in April 2020.
