New York Unemployment denied benefits - employer lying with fake witness statements - need hearing appeal help
Unemployment just denied my benefits saying I was fired for misconduct. My employer is completely lying and even got people to write fake witness statements against me. I have a hearing coming up and really need help on what to do for my appeal. Never been through this process before and really stressed about going up against my ex-employer.

Document everything! Get text messages, emails, write down dates of incidents with details. Also reach out to coworkers who might back up your side. The more evidence you have the better chance you got. I won my appeal this way when my boss tried pulling the same thing.

•Thanks for the advice! Did you have a lawyer or did you represent yourself?

•Did it myself. Just be organized and stick to the facts. The judge wants proof not drama 💯

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at unemployment using claimyr.com. They dial and wait on hold, then connect you when someone picks up. Costs $20 but worth it to talk to someone about your appeal. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

•Yeah its legit! Used it twice already. Better than calling 100 times yourself lol

IMPORTANT: During the hearing, when they ask you questions TAKE YOUR TIME answering. Don't let them rush you. Write down everything you want to say beforehand. I lost my first hearing cause I got nervous and forgot important details.

Yo my employer tried the same clown moves 🤡 Request all your employee records ASAP. They legally have to give them to you. Look for any good performance reviews or emails praising your work - that stuff helps prove they're lying

•How do I request the records? Do I email HR?

•Send a certified letter to HR requesting your complete personnel file. They have to respond within 30 days in NY

Here's a detailed guide for your hearing based on my experience: First, get all your documents organized: - Any written warnings or disciplinary actions - Performance reviews - Communications with supervisors - Witness statements in your favor - Timeline of events During the hearing: - Stay professional - Answer only what's asked - Have dates ready - Point out inconsistencies in employer's story - Don't interrupt Before the hearing, try getting someone on the phone using claimyr.com to discuss your strategy. They can give specific advice for your case. If you need free legal help, try Legal Aid Society. They sometimes take unemployment cases.
