ESD denied benefits after employer lied about termination reason - help with appeal hearing?

I'm completely freaking out right now. My former employer (retail management position) just appealed my unemployment benefits that I've been collecting since November 2024. They're claiming I was fired for 'misconduct' - specifically that I was stealing from the register! This is absolutely FALSE. I was actually let go after refusing to falsify inventory records when my district manager pressured me to hide shrinkage numbers. I have texts proving they originally told me it was a 'business decision' layoff. Now ESD sent me a notice saying I'm disqualified and have to pay back $6,780! I have an appeal hearing scheduled for next month with OAH but have no idea how to prepare. Has anyone gone through an appeal hearing where your employer straight-up lied about why you were fired? this happened to my brother in law last year and it was a NIGHTMARE. his boss said he was fired for attendance but really it was cuz they hired the managers nephew.
