New York Unemployment: Will updating address affect my first claim approval?
Just certified my first unemployment claim and realized I need to update my address since I moved. Anyone know if changing my address right after certifying will cause problems with my claim being approved? Really worried about messing something up.

Your good dont worry about it. I changed my address right after filing and it didnt affect anything. Just make sure you do it ASAP so your debit card goes to the right place 👍

Hey guys! If anyone needs to actually speak with someone at unemployment, I found this website claimyr.com that calls and waits on hold for you then connects you when they get someone. Costs $20 but totally worth it instead of calling for days. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Make sure you keep documentation of when you submitted the address change just incase. Screenshot everything!

Here's what you need to know about address changes during claims: - Address updates don't affect claim approval - Changes usually process within 24-48 hours - You can still certify while address is updating - Make sure to update BOTH UI Online account AND payment method address - If you're getting paper checks, there might be a slight delay - For fastest results, use direct deposit instead of debit card I work as a career counselor and see this all the time. Just keep certifying weekly and you'll be fine. If you need to speak with someone, use claimyr.com - way better than waiting on hold forever.

•This is super helpful, thank you! Should I call to confirm they got my new address?

•No need to call unless you don't see it updated in your account after 48 hours

•Really appreciate the detailed breakdown! One more question - if I'm getting direct deposit, will the address change affect that at all or is it totally separate?
