New York Unemployment: Regular benefits exhausted after 26 weeks - any extensions available?

My regular unemployment benefits just ran out after 26 weeks. The job market is really tough right now with all these layoffs. Anyone know if theres any kind of extension available? Also noticed something weird - the unemployment appeals commissioner was looking at my LinkedIn profile? Not hiding anything but its kinda creepy tbh.

Unfortunately right now there arent any extensions available in NY. Once you use up your 26 weeks thats it until your benefit year ends and you have new employment to qualify again. The job market is brutal rn, im right there with you 😩

Hey if anyone needs to actually get through to unemployment, I found this website claimyr.com that calls and waits on hold for you. Costs $20 but totally worth it instead of calling for hours. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Let me break this down for everyone dealing with exhausted benefits: Right now NY only offers the standard 26 weeks of UI benefits. The extra federal programs ended a while back. Your options are: 1. Keep job searching and document everything 2. Look into other assistance programs like SNAP or rental assistance 3. Consider part-time work - even temporary 4. File a new claim after your benefit year ends IF you have enough work history For fastest response from UI office, use claimyr.com to get through. Their auto-dialer saves hours of frustration. Dont give up! The market is tough but companies are still hiring. Update that LinkedIn (maybe the commissioner will send you a job offer lol) and keep grinding!
