If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I'm going through this exact same situation right now! Filed my claim last Thursday and was told to certify on Sunday, but I keep getting blocked with error messages. It's so relieving to read all these responses and know this is normal - I was starting to panic that I did something wrong during the application process. Based on what everyone's sharing here, it sounds like I just need to be patient and wait for the system to fully process my claim. The fact that multiple people got their backpay once everything was sorted out is really reassuring. I might try that Claimyr service if this drags on much longer because I really can't afford to spend another 3+ hours on hold! Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences - this community is a lifesaver when dealing with the confusing NY unemployment system!

Welcome to the club! 😅 I'm dealing with the same frustration right now - it's crazy how many of us are going through this identical situation. The NY unemployment system really needs to get its act together and stop telling people to claim when the system isn't ready for them yet. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been super helpful though. It sounds like we just have to play the waiting game, which is annoying but at least we know we'll eventually get our money. I'm definitely considering trying Claimyr too if this keeps dragging on - anything to avoid those marathon phone calls! Hang in there - sounds like we're all in this together! 💪

This thread is so helpful! I'm dealing with something similar - filed my claim 10 days ago and keep getting the "unable to process your request" error when trying to certify. The rep told me to claim last Sunday but nothing worked. Reading everyone's experiences here is really reassuring - sounds like this is just how the NY system works unfortunately. I'm going to wait another week before calling again, but that Claimyr service sounds like it could save me hours of being on hold if I do need to call. Quick question for those who've been through this - when your claim finally got approved and you could certify, did you have to certify for each missed week individually or did the system let you do them all at once? Just trying to prepare for when mine hopefully gets processed!

Most disqualifications can be appealed if you disagree with their decision. You typically have 30 days from the determination date to file an appeal. But first you need to find out exactly why they disqualified you - could be work search, separation issues, or availability problems.

I had a similar situation happen to me a few months ago - woke up to see "disqualified" with zero explanation. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that flagged my work search entries as incomplete even though I had submitted everything correctly. The frustrating part is they don't automatically send you the determination letter sometimes, so you have to really dig through your account or call multiple times. I'd suggest checking your "Messages" section thoroughly and maybe try logging out and back in - sometimes the correspondence shows up in weird places. Also document everything you've been doing for job searches just in case you need to prove compliance later.

update????? did u ever get thru?

Yes!! I tried the Claimyr service this morning and actually got through to someone in about 25 minutes! Turns out there was an issue with my identity verification that needed to be cleared. The agent fixed it while I was on the phone and said my payments should process within 3 business days. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!

So glad you were able to get through and resolve your issue! Identity verification problems seem to be really common right now - I've seen several people mention that in other posts. It's frustrating that such a simple fix can hold up payments for weeks, but at least you got it sorted out. Hopefully your payments come through quickly! Thanks for updating us on what worked - this thread will definitely help other people in the same situation.

This is such a helpful thread! I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - my claim has been stuck on "pending review" for about 2 weeks. Reading through everyone's experiences gives me hope that it's probably just a simple verification issue that can be fixed quickly once I get through to someone. I'm definitely going to try calling my assembly person's office first since that seems like it might be faster than waiting on hold for hours. Has anyone else had success with that route recently?

To directly answer your original question: The current official timeline for NY unemployment appeal hearings as of April 2025 is: 1. Initial appeal submission: 1-2 days for system processing 2. Appeal verification: 7-10 business days 3. Scheduling queue: 3-6 weeks (highly variable) 4. Notice of hearing date: Typically 7-14 days before the hearing 5. Actual hearing: Virtual hearings are now the default 6. Decision: Usually within 2-3 weeks after hearing However, this can vary significantly based on current volume and the complexity of your case. The best way to check your status is to speak directly with an appeals specialist.

This is EXACTLY what I was looking for - thank you so much! Knowing the general timeline helps a lot with my planning. I'm at about 3 weeks now, so it sounds like I should expect to wait at least a few more weeks for scheduling. I'll try to get through to someone to check my status too.

I'm also waiting for my appeal hearing and it's been about 4 weeks now. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring and nerve-wracking at the same time! It sounds like 6-8 weeks total is pretty normal right now. I've been keeping track of my case status on the NY.gov portal and it still just says "pending review" - has anyone else noticed if that status ever changes before you get the hearing notice? Also wondering if there's any difference in timing between virtual vs in-person hearings, though it sounds like most are virtual now anyway.

I'm in a similar boat - about 5 weeks into waiting for my hearing and the portal status hasn't changed at all from "pending review." From what I've read here, it seems like that status doesn't update much until you actually get the hearing notice. Most people seem to just get surprised by a letter or email with their date. As for virtual vs in-person, I think they're pretty much all virtual now unless you specifically request in-person, and from what @Ryan Kim shared, the virtual hearings seem to go pretty smoothly. At least we re'not alone in this waiting game!

omg yes the payment timing is SO confusing!! i thought i was getting paid for the current week and couldn't understand why my first check was taking forever lol. also found out the hard way that if you mess up your weekly claim you have to wait until the next week to fix it, there's no going back and editing

Correct, once submitted you cannot edit that week's claim. If you made an error, you should call NYS Department of Labor to report it rather than waiting. Small mistakes usually don't cause major issues but it's better to be proactive.

@Sasha Ivanov is absolutely right about calling if you make an error. I learned this the hard way when I accidentally reported earnings from the wrong week and it flagged my account for review. Took 3 weeks to sort out because I didn t'call immediately. The phone system is frustrating but it s'better than letting errors compound. Pro tip: keep notes of what you report each week so you can catch mistakes early.

Just went through this same confusion last month! The one-week delay really threw me off initially. One thing that helped me track everything was creating a simple spreadsheet with the filing date, week ending date, expected payment date, and actual payment received. Also, if you're worried about the timing, you can check your payment history in the my.ny.gov portal under "Payment History" - it shows the status of each week's claim (processed, pending, paid, etc.). This really helped me understand the pattern and catch when something was off with a particular week's claim.

0 coins

That's such a great idea about the spreadsheet! I'm definitely going to set that up. I checked my payment history like you suggested and it shows my first claim as "processed" but no payment date yet. Does that mean it's still coming or should I be worried? Also, when you say one-week delay, does that include the first payment too or does the first one take even longer?
