DETR Nevada: Denied claim, can't reach supervisor - tips to get through?
My unemployment claim got denied and I'm freaking out. I need to talk to a supervisor asap but I can't get through on the phone. Every time I call it's just busy signals or I'm on hold forever. I've tried emailing but haven't heard back. This is so frustrating! Has anyone successfully gotten through to a real person? What did you say to get them to review your case? I'm worried about paying rent next month if I can't get this sorted out. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Anyone else notice that the hold music is like the same 30 second loop over and over? I swear it's designed to drive us crazy so we'll hang up 🤣

•Pro tip: put the phone on speaker and mute it while you're on hold. Save your sanity!

•While a flash mob could draw attention, remember it's important to be respectful and understand public conduct protocols.

•I didn't know that was an option! Do you just show up or do you need an appointment?

•Visiting in person can sometimes make a big difference, but check for any Covid-19 restrictions or changes in process.

Hey OP, what reason did they give for denying your claim? Sometimes it's just a simple misunderstanding that can be cleared up quickly.

•They said I didn't earn enough in my base period. But I think they're missing some of my income info.

•Ah, that's actually a common issue. Make sure you have paystubs or W2s to prove your income. That should help your case!

Here's what worked for me when I needed to speak with a supervisor: 1. Be persistent. Call multiple times a day if you have to. 2. When you do get through, be polite but firm. Explain that you need to speak with a supervisor regarding your denied claim. 3. Have all your info ready - claim number, dates, any correspondence you've received. 4. If the first person won't transfer you, hang up and try again. Some reps are more helpful than others. 5. Consider reaching out to your local state representative. They sometimes have connections that can help. 6. Document everything. Keep a log of who you talked to and when. 7. Be prepared to explain why you believe the denial was incorrect. Know the eligibility requirements inside and out. Remember, you have the right to appeal the decision. Don't give up!

•Great advice! I'd add: learn the unemployment laws for your state. Knowing your rights can help you argue your case.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Mc9FNfOF_yY

•Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? $20 seems like a lot just to make a phone call.

•I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate and it actually worked. Saved me hours of hold time.

•How does it work exactly? Do they give you a specific time when you'll get the call?

•@profile 9 You pick a time slot and they start calling then. When they get through, they connect you. For me it took about an hour.

•Claimyr seems very useful if you are in a bind, but it's important to note that not everyone may want or be able to spend the $20.

I feel ya, buddy. The system is totally broken. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits. 🤬

When dealing with unemployment claims, it’s crucial to understand that while communication with agencies can be frustrating, there are methods to ensure your voice is heard. Claimyr is a tool that is gaining popularity because it offers a way to bypass the long hold times typically encountered when trying to reach unemployment offices. The service, which costs $20, automatically dials the phone menu and waits on hold, connecting you when a representative is available. Many users have attested to its effectiveness in scenarios where time spent on hold was drastically reduced. However, consider that this service might not fit everyone’s budget or approach, and it’s always beneficial to explore multiple avenues. Other strategies include calling at non-peak times, visiting local offices if possible, or even enlisting help from state representatives. Moreover, keeping a detailed log of your attempts to contact the office can be helpful if you need to file an appeal or seek further assistance. Always double-check that all your documentation is accurate and complete, as errors can lead to delays or denials. Persistence and thorough documentation are your best allies in resolving claim issues.

This whole system is a joke. They deny claims hoping people will just give up. Don't let them win! Keep fighting! 💪

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating! I've been denied twice now and I swear they're not even reading my application. Has anyone had luck with the appeal process?

•3 months?! 😱 How did you pay your bills in the meantime?

•It was rough. Had to borrow money from family and max out my credit cards. But I got backpay when it was approved, so that helped.

•An attorney might help speed up the appeal process if you can afford it. Just a thought!

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through. Also, make sure you have all your documents ready when you do talk to someone. Good luck!
