SNAP interview impossible to schedule - on hold for hours, need help!
I've been trying to get in touch with SNAP for an interview to get approved for benefits. I have a case number, but I've been waiting on the phone for hours multiple times this week. Anyone else struggling with this? Any tips on how to actually get through to someone?

Ugh, I feel your pain. I was in the same boat last month. It's like they don't want us to get the help we need. 🤬

•fr tho. its like they purposely make it hard to discourage ppl from applying

•Conspiracy theory: they have a quota of how many people they can actually help, so they make it impossible to reach them. 🤔

Have you tried calling right when they open? I had luck getting through that way after weeks of trying.

•Yeah, I've tried that. Still no luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/GnWMF9pWP-U

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•$20? That's steep for something that should be free. The system is so broken.

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me days of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

•They don't guarantee it, but in my experience and from what I've read, it usually works. They just keep redialing and navigating the menu until they get a human, then they call you.

Pro tip: Try calling your local state representative's office. Sometimes they can help push things through or at least get you in touch with the right person at SNAP.

I've been dealing with this for THREE MONTHS. It's ridiculous. I've lost count of how many hours I've wasted on hold. At this point, I'm considering just giving up. 😫

Here's what I've learned after dealing with SNAP for years: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every interaction. 3. Use multiple methods: phone, email, in-person visits if possible. 4. Learn the best times to call. Usually early morning or right after lunch. 5. Be polite but firm with the agents. They're overworked too. 6. If all else fails, contact your local legal aid. They might be able to help. 7. Join local Facebook groups or forums. Sometimes people share insider tips. 8. Check if your state has an online portal. Sometimes it's faster than calling. Hope this helps someone. Stay strong, everyone. We're all in this together. 💪

Anyone else notice how the hold music is always terrible? Like, if I'm gonna be on hold for 3 hours, at least give me some decent tunes. 🎵🤮

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at the official SNAP account can get their attention.
