Congrats on landing the interview! Here are some tips that have helped me in the past: • Research the company thoroughly. Know their mission, recent projects, and industry position. • Prepare answers for common questions like 'Tell me about yourself' and 'Why do you want this job?' • Have specific examples ready to demonstrate your skills and experience. • Practice with a friend or in front of a mirror to boost confidence. • Prepare thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer about the role and company. • Dress professionally and arrive early. • Bring extra copies of your resume and a notepad. • Send a thank-you email within 24 hours after the interview. Remember, they already like you enough to interview you. Stay calm and be yourself. Good luck!

This is solid advice! I'd add: make sure to highlight how your skills align with the job description. They wanna know you can do the job, ya know?

Thank you so much! This is really helpful. I'm definitely going to practice with a friend. Any suggestions for good questions to ask the interviewer?

Sure thing! Some good questions could be: - What does success look like in this role? - Can you describe the team I'd be working with? - What are the biggest challenges facing the department/company right now? - What opportunities for growth are there in this position? - How would you describe the company culture? Just make sure your questions show genuine interest and that you've done your homework!

I always ask about their coffee situation. If they don't have good coffee, is it really worth working there? 🤣☕

Make sure to research common interview questions for your specific field. Each industry has its own set of typical questions.

That's a great point! I'll definitely look into that. Do you know any good resources for finding industry-specific interview questions?

Glassdoor is pretty good for this. You can often find actual interview questions from the company you're applying to. Also, check out professional associations in your field - they sometimes have interview prep resources.

I found a method to get someone on the phone for interview prep. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/4RyuKFckT6k

Sounds interesting, but $20? Is it really worth it?

For me it was. I got through to a career counselor who gave me some great tips. Saved me hours of waiting on hold.

I get the skepticism, but it's legit. They even have a money-back guarantee if you don't get through. Beats spending all day trying to get someone on the phone.

Remember to turn off your phone during the interview! Nothing worse than getting a call mid-interview 🤦♂️

Pro tip: at the end of the interview, ask them 'Based on our conversation, do you have any concerns about my ability to do this job?' It gives you a chance to address any doubts they might have.

Thats actually genius. Wish I'd known this for my last interview!

Idk, seems kinda aggressive. Wouldn't that put them on the spot?

It can feel that way, but most interviewers appreciate the opportunity to clarify things. Just ask it in a friendly, conversational way. It shows you're proactive and open to feedback.
