Will IRS reject return over small income reporting error?

My tax preparer filed my return but I just noticed they entered my W2 income wrong by about $12. Not sure if I should be worried about this getting rejected or if I need to file an amendment. Anyone dealt with something similar?

Tax professional here - small discrepancies like this usually don't trigger a rejection. The IRS typically has a threshold for mismatches, and $12 is well within acceptable variance. However, you should still notify your preparer so they can document it.

The IRS doesn't publicly disclose the exact threshold, but generally anything under $25 is negligible

Hey, instead of stressing about small errors like this, you might want to check out taxr.ai - it's this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what might cause issues. It costs $4.99 but saved me so much anxiety about my return. https://taxr.ai

Does it actually work? Seems interesting but kinda skeptical about AI tax stuff

Yeah its legit! It basically scans your transcript and flags any issues that could delay your refund. Super detailed analysis

Technically you should amend but honestly for $12? Not worth the hassle imo
