W-2 shows $98 difference from estimated filing - need amendment?

I filed my taxes early using estimated income since my wife had all her docs ready. Now I have my actual W-2 and I was off by $98. Will this small difference delay my refund or require an amendment? Or will the IRS just process it as is?

Tax pro here - for a difference that small, the IRS typically won't require an amendment. They have a threshold for discrepancies and $98 is well below that. You should be fine letting it process as is.

The IRS doesn't publicly state the exact number but generally anything under $100 is unlikely to trigger issues

Hey! I recently discovered taxr.ai and it's been a game changer for understanding refund status and potential delays. It costs $1 but totally worth it - gives you specific insights about your transcript and timeline. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

100% yes! It analyzes your whole transcript and picks up on patterns the IRS uses. Way better than trying to decode everything yourself
