2021 Recovery Rebate Credit mistake - will IRS auto-adjust or do I need to amend?
Filed my 2021 taxes and claimed I didn't get the $1200 stimulus payments but just found out online that I actually did receive them. Will the IRS automatically adjust my refund amount or do I need to file an amendment? Really hoping to avoid the amendment route since processing times are ridiculous right now.

The IRS will automatically adjust your return and remove the Recovery Rebate Credit if their records show you already received the payments. No need to file an amendment for this specific issue. They'll send you a notice explaining the adjustment and your new refund amount.
