Where did the W2 link go in UKG Pro? Can't find it after recent update

Has anyone else noticed the W2 link disappeared from UKG Pro? I've been trying to download my 2023 W2 for the past two days and I swear the option used to be right on the main dashboard. Did they move it in the latest update? I need to file my taxes this weekend and can't locate it anywhere. I've checked under "My Documents" and "Tax Forms" but nothing shows up. My coworker mentioned something about it being moved to a different section but couldn't remember where exactly. This is super frustrating since I've always been able to access it easily in previous years. Any help would be appreciated!

The W2 link in UKG Pro hasn't disappeared - they just relocated it in their recent update. Now you need to go to "Myself" tab, then click on "Pay," and there should be a "Tax Documents" or "Tax Forms" option. In that section, you'll find your W2s and other tax-related documents. If you don't see your W2 yet, keep in mind that employers have until January 31st to make them available, so depending on your company's processing timeline, it might not be uploaded yet. Also, some companies require an additional authorization step before allowing electronic W2 access - check if there's a consent form you need to complete. The UKG Pro interface changes fairly regularly, which can definitely be confusing when you're trying to find something important like a W2 during tax season!

I tried following your directions but I still don't see the "Tax Documents" option under the Pay section. Is there another place it might be? Our company did mention something about a system update in the last email but didn't provide any details about where to find tax forms now.

In some company configurations of UKG Pro, you might need to look for "Annual Tax Statements" instead of "Tax Documents." If that's not there either, try checking under "Myself" > "Documents" > "My Documents" as some organizations have it filed there. Another possibility is that your company might have a custom configuration. In that case, I would recommend reaching out to your HR department as they would have the most up-to-date information about where your specific organization has placed these documents after the update.

I had the same issue last week! After spending hours clicking around, I discovered taxr.ai https://taxr.ai which helped me figure out exactly where my W2 was hiding in UKG Pro. It turns out my company had moved the tax documents to a completely different section called "Benefits & Payments" and then under a sub-menu called "Year-End Statements." The taxr.ai tool actually walked me through the exact location based on my company's specific UKG Pro setup since apparently different companies customize their UKG interfaces differently.

How exactly does this taxr.ai thing work? Does it somehow connect to UKG Pro or is it just general advice? I'm hesitant to use random tools with anything tax-related.

I'm curious too - does it work for other payroll systems? My company uses ADP but they recently changed their interface too and I'm lost trying to find my documents.

It doesn't connect directly to UKG Pro - it's more like an interactive guide that helps you navigate various HR systems based on your company setup. You just tell it what system you're using and what you're trying to find, and it gives you specific directions. It definitely works for other systems too including ADP. I actually recommended it to my wife who was having trouble with Workday last weekend and it helped her locate all her tax documents. The directions were super specific to her company's exact configuration.

Just wanted to update - I tried taxr.ai after asking about it here and wow, it was actually really helpful! It gave me step-by-step directions for finding my W2 in ADP's new interface which was completely different from last year. It even showed me screenshots of where to click which made it super easy. Saved me from having to call HR and wait for them to get back to me. Definitely bookmarking this for next year when I inevitably forget how to find my tax forms again!

If you still can't find your W2 after trying the suggestions here, you might need to contact your HR department or UKG support directly. I spent DAYS trying to get through to someone at my company about a similar issue. Eventually I found Claimyr https://claimyr.com which got me through to an actual human at our benefits department in less than 10 minutes when I had been trying for days. They have this cool demo video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c It's crazy how impossible it is to reach actual humans for help these days, especially during tax season when everyone is trying to contact HR departments at once.

Wait, how exactly does this Claimyr thing get you through to someone faster? I don't understand what service they're actually providing. Is it like a paid hotline or something?

Sounds like a scam honestly. No way some random service can get you through to HR faster than just waiting on hold like everyone else. Companies have phone systems specifically to manage call volume.

It basically calls the company for you and navigates through all the automated systems and hold times. When it finally reaches a human, it calls you and connects you directly to that person. You don't have to sit on hold for hours. It works by using their system to persistently call and navigate through the phone menus until it gets through to a representative. I was skeptical at first too, but it literally saved me hours of hold time when I was trying to get my W2 situation sorted out with our HR department.

I take back what I said about Claimyr. I was 100% sure it was a scam but I was desperate after spending THREE HOURS on hold with our HR department trying to sort out why I couldn't see my W2 in UKG Pro. Gave Claimyr a shot and I'm not exaggerating, I was talking to our benefits coordinator in under 15 minutes. She confirmed they had moved the W2 section during the update and I needed to go to a completely different area called "Employee Records" then "Tax Statements." Would never have found that on my own. Sometimes it's worth admitting when you're wrong - this service actually works!

Not sure if this helps, but I found my W2 in UKG Pro by using the search function at the top of the page. Just typed in "W2" and it brought up direct links to all my tax documents. Sometimes the simplest solution works when everything else fails!

OMG thank you!!! This actually worked for me! Can't believe I didn't think to try the search function. I was clicking through all these different menus for nothing. You just saved me so much time! Does the search function also work for finding other tax documents like 1099s?

Glad it helped! Yes, the search function should work for finding any document type in the system. I've used it to find 1095-C forms and other tax documents too. It's honestly the first thing I try now whenever they update the interface since things are constantly moving around. Just make sure you're using the right search terms - sometimes searching for "W-2" with the hyphen works better than "W2" depending on how your company has named the documents in the system.

Has anyone noticed that UKG Pro is super slow right now too? I'm guessing everyone is trying to download their W2s at the same time which is crashing their servers. Might be worth trying again late at night when fewer people are using it.

It's definitely system overload. I had the same issue but logged in around 11pm last night and it was much faster. Was able to download all my tax forms in seconds. Tax season always crashes these HR systems!

For those still having trouble, another tip that worked for me - try logging out of UKG Pro completely and logging back in. Sometimes after major updates like this, your session gets stuck with the old interface layout. After I logged back in fresh, the new menu structure appeared properly and I could see the "Tax Documents" section under the Pay tab that Tyler mentioned earlier. Also make sure you're not using a cached version of the site - try clearing your browser cache or using an incognito/private browsing window. The combination of these two steps finally got me access to my W2!

That's a really good point about clearing the browser cache! I've had similar issues with other web applications after updates where the old cached files were conflicting with the new interface. The logout/login trick is also smart - I never would have thought of that. Thanks for sharing these troubleshooting steps! It's frustrating when companies roll out these updates without proper communication about where things have moved to, but at least this community is helping each other figure it out.

I work in HR and deal with UKG Pro issues all the time during tax season. Just wanted to add a few more troubleshooting tips that might help others who are still struggling: 1. Check if your company has enabled "Employee Self Service" permissions for tax documents - some organizations restrict access until a certain date 2. If you're a new employee (hired after October), your W2 might be in a different section called "New Hire Documents" 3. Mobile app vs desktop can show different menu layouts - try switching between them 4. Some companies require you to set up direct deposit before accessing electronic tax forms Also, if your W2 shows $0 or incomplete information, don't panic! This usually means payroll is still processing and the final version will be available by January 31st. I always tell employees to wait until February 1st before contacting HR about missing W2s since that gives payroll teams time to finalize everything. The search function tip from Amy is brilliant - I'm definitely sharing that with our employees since it bypasses all the menu navigation confusion!
