When do IRS transcripts update on Fridays? Refund on hold, need info!
Hey everyone, I'm trying to figure out when the IRS updates their transcripts on Fridays. I've got a refund on hold and I'm checking for updates. Anyone know the usual time they refresh the system?

From what I know, IRS transcripts usually update overnight. If you're checking on a Friday, you should see any changes early in the morning, like between midnight and 6 AM. Hope this helps!

ā¢I've heard it can vary tho. Sometimes it updates later in the day. Don't lose hope if you don't see changes right away!

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at the IRS! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials through the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/UiAegRQ2Is8

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

ā¢I get the skepticism, but yeah, it's legit. I was desperate and decided to give it a shot. Saved me hours of hold time.

ā¢How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

ā¢It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to be on the phone that whole time. The service called me when an agent was on the line.

I've been dealing with a hold on my refund for weeks now. It's so frustrating! Has anyone had any luck getting theirs released?

Pro tip: If you're using the "Where's My Refund" tool, try clearing your browser cache or using a different device. Sometimes it shows outdated info if you don't.

Is anyone else sick of how broken the IRS system is? We shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get our own money back. š¤¬

Here's what I've learned after dealing with IRS refund holds for years: ⢠Transcripts usually update overnight, but not always ⢠Fridays can be hit or miss for updates ⢠If you see code 570, it means there's a hold on your account ⢠Code 571 means the hold has been released ⢠Don't rely solely on the "Where's My Refund" tool ⢠Sometimes calling can help, but be prepared for long wait times ⢠If you amended your return, it can take up to 16 weeks to process ⢠Check if you need to verify your identity on ID.me ⢠Keep all your documents handy in case they request more info Hope this helps someone! Hang in there, everyone.

ā¢What's the deal with ID.me? I keep hearing about it but I'm not sure what it is.

ā¢ID.me is a identity verification service the IRS uses. If they can't verify your identity from your tax return, they might ask you to create an ID.me account. It's a bit of a pain, but it's meant to prevent fraud.

Anyone else feel like they're playing the world's worst lottery every time they check for updates? š°š¤”

I heard a rumor that the IRS is super backed up this year because of all the stimulus payments and child tax credit stuff. Anyone know if that's true?

ā¢Yeah, I read an article about that. Apparently they're still processing returns from 2020 in some cases. It's a mess.
