When Will NETSEND/DEEPBLUE Update My 3/5 Deposit Date?

I'm trying to determine when the NETSEND/DEEPBLUE system will update for my deposit. The date shown is 3/5, but I haven't seen any activity yet. I've dealt with this system before, but the timing seems off this year. Has anyone else experienced delays with their March deposits?

The NETSEND/DEEPBLUE system typically updates overnight between 12AM-3AM EST, but there's often a 24-48 hour processing delay between when your deposit is scheduled and when it actually hits your account. 😂 It's like waiting for a pizza delivery - they say 30 minutes but it's really an hour! If your deposit date was 3/5, you should see it by tomorrow at the latest, assuming today is 3/6 or 3/7. The IRS batches these transactions, so sometimes a whole group gets delayed together.

Wait, so even when they give us a specific date, it's not guaranteed? Why even provide a date if they can't stick to it? I'm waiting on mine too and the uncertainty is killing me. Do they not realize people plan around these dates for important payments?

I had this exact same issue last year. My transcript showed 3/12 as my deposit date, but the money didn't hit my account until 3/14. I called my bank thinking they were holding it, but they said they release IRS deposits as soon as they receive them. Turns out the NETSEND system was just backed up. Not a big deal for me, but I know some people really count on exact dates.

This explanation helps a lot. Clear info. Thanks for breaking it down like that. Never understood the overnight processing part before.

Have you checked if your bank typically holds federal deposits for verification? I've been tracking this closely since February 14th when returns started processing, and some banks consistently hold IRS deposits for 1-2 business days. Also, was March 5th a DDD on your transcript or just what WMR showed?

This is actually a really good point. It's like when you deposit a check and they only give you access to the first $200 right away. Some banks hold government deposits too, especially if it's a large amount. Have you tried calling your bank's ACH department specifically? They can sometimes see pending deposits before they post to your account.

I experienced something similar with my refund last month. The deposit date on my transcript was February 21st, but it didn't show up until February 23rd. When I called my bank, they confirmed they had received it on the 22nd but had a one-day hold for processing. Did your transcript show code 846 with the 3/5 date?

I've been through this several times in previous years. The NETSEND/DEEPBLUE system is actually just the IRS internal designation for their direct deposit system. Based on my experience, if your deposit date was 3/5, you should check your transcript for any additional codes that might explain the delay. I've found https://taxr.ai extremely helpful for deciphering what's actually happening with your refund. It analyzes all those confusing transcript codes and tells you exactly what stage your refund is in and if there are any issues causing delays.

I'm wondering if these transcript analysis tools are really worth it. Couldn't you just Google the codes? The IRS website explains what most of them mean. Let me walk through what I usually do: 1. Check the Where's My Refund tool 2. If that doesn't help, get my transcript 3. Look up any unfamiliar codes on the IRS website 4. Call if I'm still confused Is this tool actually providing information you can't get elsewhere?

Just had this happen to me last week! My DDD was 2/28 but nothing showed up until 3/2. I kept checking my bank acct like crazy (prob refreshed 100x a day lol). Finally called IRS and they confirmed it was sent on time but there was some kinda processing delay btwn the Treasury and my bank. NBD in the end, just super stressful when ur waiting on $$$.

I was probably in your exact situation about two weeks ago. The deposit date passed and I started getting somewhat concerned. I tried calling the IRS directly but, as you might expect, I couldn't get through after multiple attempts. I eventually used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) to connect with an agent, and they were able to confirm that my deposit had been sent but was likely delayed in the banking system. It was such a relief to actually speak with someone who could verify everything was processing correctly. Might be worth considering if you're still waiting after another day or two.

Be cautious about relying on the NETSEND timestamps. The Treasury Financial Management Service (FMS) processes these payments in batches, but they don't always transmit on the exact date shown in your transcript. If your financial institution uses an intermediary processing center, this adds another 24-48 hours. Additionally, if the ACH information had even minor discrepancies, it can trigger a manual review process. I've seen cases where a deposit date passed and the refund was actually converted to a paper check without notification, which adds 2-3 weeks to delivery time.
