When Will My 2023 IRS Account Transcript Update After Feb 5th Filing? (Cycle 05 Last Year)
I filed and got accepted on Feb 5th for my 2023 taxes. Looking at my Account Transcripts page, I can see all my available transcripts from 2020-2023 showing up in the system. The page shows "These transcripts show changes you or the IRS made after the original return was filed, such as making estimated tax payments or filing an amended return." I can clearly see: - 2023 Account Transcript [PDF] EN - 2022 Account Transcript [PDF] EN - 2021 Account Transcript [PDF] EN - 2020 Account Transcript [PDF] EN And there's also a "Show more transcripts" button at the bottom. Last year I was cycle 05. I'm constantly checking my "2023 Account Transcript [PDF]" to see any changes made after the original return was filed, especially since this would show my estimated tax payments or if there's any amended return activity. Anyone else see their transcripts updated yet? Hoping mine shows up this Friday!

The IRS transcript page shows Account Transcripts available for tax years 2020-2023, which is the standard lookback period. The description specifically indicates these transcripts track post-filing changes, including estimated tax payments and amended return activity. Your ability to see the 2023 transcript already listed is normal after filing, but meaningful updates typically appear 5-7 business days after acceptance. As a cycle 05 filer from last year, you're likely to remain on that processing cycle, which updates Thursday nights/early Friday mornings. Each transcript is available as a PDF download with an English language option (noted by the "EN" indicator). The key advantage of Account Transcripts over other transcript types is that they show real-time updates to your tax account, including any payments processed or amendments submitted after your initial filing. Your strategy of checking Friday morning aligns well with the cycle 05 processing schedule.

Instead of refreshing the IRS site like a crazy person (been there lol), I started using taxr.ai - it costs $1 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly when to expect updates and your refund. Way better than guessing about cycles tbh. https://taxr.ai

Pro tip: if ur cycle code ends in 05, transcripts update thursday night/friday morning. if its 02, wednesday night/thursday morning. But the wmr tool only updates once a day so dont trust that

Same situation here! Filed and accepted on Feb 5th too. I can see my 2023 Account Transcript listed on the IRS site but when I download it, it's just showing my original return info with no updates yet. Based on what others are saying about cycle 05, I'm definitely planning to check Friday morning around 6am EST. The waiting is killing me but at least we're all in this together! 🤞
