WMR Wouldn't Let Me Login - TT Code 152 for Weeks - Filed 3/8

WMR is updating, wouldn't let me login. Please let me be in this batch šŸ™ Filed 3/8 and got accepted. Someday... Tax Topic has been 152 this whole time and still is šŸ˜© Last year my refund came in 10 days, the year before that 14 days. I need this money for my prescription medications that insurance won't fully cover. I've checked WMR every morning at 6am and every night at 11pm since I filed. Anyone else stuck in this weird limbo?

WMR maintenance is actually a good sign! šŸŽ‰ They typically update systems right before pushing through batches of refunds. Tax Topic 152 just means you're getting a refund (eventually... lol). The IRS is moving at glacial speeds this year - I've seen people who filed in January still waiting. The system is basically held together with duct tape and prayers at this point. Hang in there!

Is the processing delay consistent with statistical norms? According to my tracking, exactly 37% of returns filed between March 5-10 are experiencing delays of 21+ days. Has the WMR maintenance been occurring at regular 24-hour intervals or sporadically?

I was in the exact same situation with my return filed on March 4th. After waiting 23 days with no movement, I decided to call the IRS on March 27th. Spent 3 hours on hold before giving up. The next day, March 28th, I tried Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and got connected to an IRS agent in about 15 minutes. The agent confirmed my return was just waiting for final processing and wasn't flagged for any issues. My transcript updated 2 days later. Sometimes you just need to know what's happening rather than refresh WMR endlessly.

I'm skeptical about paying for something that should be free. The IRS phone service is a public service we already pay for with our taxes. ā€¢ Does Claimyr actually improve your chances of getting your refund? ā€¢ What happens if you still can't get through? ā€¢ Couldn't you just keep calling the IRS yourself?

Thank you for sharing this. I'm desperate. Been trying to call for days. No luck. Might try Claimyr. Need my refund soon. Medical bills piling up.

The WMR tool undergoes scheduled maintenance periods that typically coincide with database updates. When you see the inability to login, this often indicates that your return is being processed in the current batch. The Tax Topic 152 indicates a normal refund processing path rather than an exception or review status. Have you checked your tax transcript rather than just WMR? Does your transcript show any transaction codes that might indicate where in the process your return currently sits?

According to IRS Publication 5344, the "Where's My Refund" tool has limited information and is often the LAST thing to update. The real story is in your transcript, which shows exactly what's happening with your return. I was frustrated too until I used taxr.ai to analyze my transcript - it explained every code and gave me a timeline prediction that was spot on. Per IRS Procedural Memo 2023-17, returns with certain medical expense deductions can take longer to process, which might be relevant to your situation. Taxr.ai would tell you if that's affecting your return: https://taxr.ai

OMG I JUST GOT MY DDD TODAY AFTER BEING STUCK WITH CODE 152 FOR WEEKS! šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰ Filed 3/5, accepted same day, and NOTHING until today! My transcript updated overnight with an 846 code and deposit date for next Wednesday! The WMR tool is STILL showing processing. Don't lose hope! The system is just completely overwhelmed this year. For what it's worth, I never called or did anything special - it just suddenly updated. Sending good vibes your way! šŸ’•

Last year I was in a similar situation with medications I needed. What worked for me was contacting my local Taxpayer Advocate Service office. They can help when you have a financial hardship situation like medical needs. I called on April 12th, had an appointment on April 15th, and my refund was processed by April 22nd. They have special authority to expedite returns when there's a documented hardship. I brought my prescription receipts and a letter from my doctor explaining the necessity.

Do you think this would work for me too? I'm worried about bothering them. Would they need specific documentation? How do I find my local office? I'm sorry for all the questions.
