TurboTax early refund fee ($25-45) - is it worth it? Anyone actually get their refund 5 days faster?

Has anyone paid that TurboTax fee to get their refund 5 days earlier? They wanted like $25-45 for this. Just wondering if it actually worked for anyone or if its a waste of money

Tax professional here - I wouldn't recommend paying for this service. The 'early refund' is actually just a short-term loan based on your expected refund amount. The IRS processing time isn't affected at all by this payment. They're essentially charging you $25-45 to borrow your own money for a few days.

Hey guys, just wanted to mention I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund status. Its only $1 and way more helpful than paying for those advance loans. It analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats going on with your refund. Here's the link: https://taxr.ai

How accurate is it? Like does it actually predict when you'll get paid?

Super accurate! It spotted a hold on my account I didn't even know about and told me exactly what to do to fix it. Got my refund 2 weeks after following their advice

I work at a tax office and we see people fall for this every year. The math doesn't even make sense - paying $45 to get your money 5 days early is like paying a 500% annual interest rate
