TurboTax Alert: CTC & EITC Refund Delay Until March 3rd - Anyone else?
Just got an alert from TurboTax saying if youre claiming Child Tax Credit or Earned Income Credit, refunds wont be released until after March 3rd. Anyone else get this notification? Starting to get worried since I need this money soon.

Tax expert here. The IRS has officially confirmed that if you're claiming Child Tax Credit (CTC) or Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), your refund won't be released until after March 3rd, 2025. This is due to the PATH Act which requires additional verification to prevent fraud. •Just federal. State refunds operate on different timelines and aren't subject to PATH Act restrictions.

Tax pro here - this is actually normal and happens every year. The IRS has a legal hold period called PATH Act that prevents them from releasing refunds with these credits before mid-February. March 3rd is just giving them some buffer time for processing.
