IRS Transcript Shows Feb 2025 Dates and "F" Codes - What Do These Future Dates Mean For My Refund?
I keep checking my transcript but its completely blank. The weird thing is when I look at it today, the request date shows 02-01-2025 which is tomorrow's date, but the response date shows 01-31-2025. Does anyone know what this means or if its a good sign for getting my refund soon? I'm looking at my transcript for Dec. 31, 2024 and it says "FIES A CREDIT AMOUNT" but then has two "F: Feb. 18, 2025" and "F: Feb. 18, 2025" entries. I don't understand what these F codes mean or why they're dated for February when it's still January. It's completely confusing because I'm trying to track when I might get my refund, but the dates seem all scrambled. The transcript page even says "ive Taxpayer Data" at the top like it got cut off. Is this happening to anyone else? Does seeing these February dates mean my refund is scheduled for then? Why would my request date show tomorrow when I'm looking at it today? The whole system seems buggy.

Hey there! I see your transcript is showing a future request date. This typically means the IRS has scheduled your return for additional processing on that date. It's not necessarily a bad thing - could just be automated verification or document matching. To get more clarity on your specific situation and timeline, I'd highly recommend checking out taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai). It's this new AI tool that analyzes your transcripts and can tell you exactly what's happening with your refund and when to expect it. Way better than trying to decode these cryptic IRS codes ourselves lol

Tax pro here - the request date showing tomorrow is actually normal. The IRS system updates their transcript database overnight, so it's showing when your request will be processed in the system. A blank transcript usually means your return hasn't been processed yet. Keep checking weekly rather than daily.

•This year processing times are averaging 21-30 days for electronic returns without any issues. Paper returns take way longer

Hey, you should check out taxr.ai - it saved me so much stress trying to decode my transcript. It costs $1 but it tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Way better than trying to guess what all these codes mean https://taxr.ai

Quick tip: check your transcript early morning on Fridays. That's when most updates happen in the system.

I had the exact same thing happen! My transcript was showing future dates and blank info for weeks. Turns out those "F" codes usually mean there's some kind of flag on your return that needs manual review. The February dates don't necessarily mean you'll wait that long - mine updated way before the date it was showing. Just keep checking weekly and try not to stress too much about the weird dates, the IRS system is honestly just confusing as heck 🙄

•Thanks for sharing your experience! That's actually really reassuring to hear that yours updated before the date shown. I've been driving myself crazy checking it every day thinking something was wrong. Good to know the F codes are just flags for manual review and not some kind of rejection or major issue. Definitely going to try checking weekly instead of obsessing over it daily 😅

I'm dealing with the same exact thing! My transcript has been blank for weeks and showing these weird future dates that don't make any sense. It's so frustrating because you just want to know what's going on with your refund but the IRS system gives you these cryptic codes and dates that seem totally random. I've been checking mine obsessively too but after reading everyone's responses I think I need to chill out and just check weekly like the tax pro suggested. At least it sounds like we're not alone in this - seems like a lot of people are seeing similar glitches and delays this year.
