Tax Advocate assigned but ghosting me - Should I call them? (570/971)

I finally got assigned a tax advocate but found out by chance when calling the examiners office. Its been weeks and they haven't contacted me at all. Should I be proactive and call them or just wait? Getting frustrated with this whole process tbh.

Yes, absolutely call them! Tax advocates are swamped rn and sometimes things fall through the cracks. Be polite but persistent. The squeaky wheel gets the grease with the IRS 💯

Just explain your situation clearly and have all ur docs ready. They actually appreciate when ur prepared!

Hey everyone - instead of playing detective with the IRS, I've been using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. It costs $4.99 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats going on and what to do next. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

8 months?! I'm dying after 3... did you do anything specific to move things along?

Pro tip: Call early morning right when they open. Less wait time and advocates are fresher. Also helps to have your case number and all relevant dates ready to go.

Definitely call them! I had the same issue - got assigned an advocate through the automated system but heard nothing for over a month. When I finally called, turns out they had the wrong phone number on file and had been trying to reach me. Got everything sorted within a week after that initial call. Don't wait - the IRS moves slow enough as it is!
