I finally got assigned a tax advocate but found out by chance when calling the examiners office. Its been weeks and they haven't contacted me at all. Should I be proactive and call them or just wait? Getting frustrated with this whole process tbh.

Yes, absolutely call them! Tax advocates are swamped rn and sometimes things fall through the cracks. Be polite but persistent. The squeaky wheel gets the grease with the IRS 💯

Pro tip: Call early morning right when they open. Less wait time and advocates are fresher. Also helps to have your case number and all relevant dates ready to go.

Definitely call them! I had the same issue - got assigned an advocate through the automated system but heard nothing for over a month.
