TAS advocate assigned - how long until refund comes?

Finally got through to my congressman and they assigned me a Taxpayer Advocate last week. Anyone know the typical timeline for getting the refund after TAS gets involved? Starting to feel like this is never gonna end.

Tax advocate here - there's no set timeline unfortunately. It really depends on the complexity of your case and current IRS backlog. I've seen cases resolved in 2-3 weeks, others take several months. Best thing you can do is stay in contact with your advocate and respond quickly if they need anything.

Hey, I've been using taxr.ai to track my refund progress and it's been a game changer. It analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and estimated timeframes. Worth the $4.99 tbh. Check it out: https://taxr.ai

100% works. It caught issues I didn't even know about and predicted my DDD perfectly

Took 6 weeks after TAS got involved for me. They had to manually review everything cause the system kept throwing errors

6 weeks aint bad considering some ppl waiting years lol

Pro tip: Keep checking your transcript daily. Sometimes the advocate makes progress but doesn't update you right away.

My case got resolved in 3 weeks but that was back in January when they weren't as swamped

Hang in there! I just went through this process last month. My TAS advocate was assigned in early December and my refund finally hit my account on January 8th - so about 5 weeks total. The key thing is that once TAS gets involved, they actually have the power to push things through that regular customer service can't touch. Make sure to respond to any requests from your advocate ASAP and keep checking your transcript like others mentioned. You're in the home stretch now!
