State refund amount suddenly changed to $0 - did IRS take my refund?

I checked my state refund status yesterday and it showed the amount I was supposed to get but today when I checked again it shows $0. Really worried they took my refund or something went wrong. Anyone know what this means or been through this?

This is actually pretty common when your refund is about to be issued. The amount showing as $0 usually means they're processing the final stages of your refund. Should see a deposit within 5-7 business days typically. Just keep checking your bank account.

Hey guys just wanted to share something that helped me track my refund better. I started using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer. It costs like a dollar but its worth it cause it actually explains whats happening with your refund in plain english. Way better than trying to decode all this stuff ourselves https://taxr.ai

totally get being careful! it just reads your transcript and explains everything - like when you'll get paid, if there are delays, etc. saved me hours of googling fr

Don't panic! This happened to me last year and I was convinced they stole my refund lol. The $0 showing up is actually a good sign - it means your refund is in the final processing stage and about to be sent out. Usually takes 3-5 business days after you see the $0 for it to hit your account. Keep an eye on your bank and you should see it soon! 🤞

This is so reassuring to hear! I'm new here and was literally having the same panic moment as OP. Thank you for explaining what the $0 actually means - these systems are so confusing when you don't know what to expect! 😅

Welcome to the community! 👋 Just wanted to chime in as someone who's been through this exact same scare - that $0 showing up is actually the system's way of saying "we're about to send your money!" It's like when a package shows "out for delivery" but the tracking goes weird for a bit. I know it's nerve-wracking but you should definitely see your refund hit your account within the next few days. Ohio's system does this pretty regularly from what I've seen here!
