Oklahoma State Tax Refund Delays 2025 - Anyone Get Theirs Yet?

Been waiting on my Oklahoma state refund for 3 weeks now. Status just says processing. Anyone else from OK get theirs yet? Filed early February with direct deposit.

Tax professional here in OKC. Oklahoma Tax Commission is experiencing significant delays this year. Current processing time is 4-6 weeks for electronic returns, 8-10 weeks for paper. They're implementing new fraud detection systems which is causing the slowdown.

I know its frustrating, but the new system should help prevent tax fraud in the long run. Hang in there!

Hey yall, I was in the same boat but I found this tool called taxr.ai that actually helped me understand exactly what was happening with my refund. Its only $1 and gives you a detailed breakdown of your transcript and tells you exactly when to expect your refund. Way better than guessing https://taxr.ai

does it work for state returns too? or just federal?

Works for both! It analyzes everything and explains it in plain english. Saved me hours of research

Filed mine on 2/3 and still waiting too! This is my first year doing Oklahoma taxes after moving from Texas. Called the OTC hotline twice and both times they just said "processing times are longer than usual due to system updates." Really hoping it comes through soon since I was counting on that refund for some car repairs. At least it sounds like they're actually processing them, just slowly!

Welcome to Oklahoma taxes! 😅 Yeah the processing times here are definitely longer than Texas. I've been here 5 years and it's usually 2-3 weeks max, but this year has been brutal with the new systems. Your refund will come through - just gotta be patient unfortunately. Hope you get those car repairs sorted soon!

Filed mine on 1/28 and just got my refund yesterday! Took about 5 weeks total. I'm in Edmond and used direct deposit with Tinker Federal Credit Union. For what it's worth, I had a pretty straightforward return - standard deduction, W-2 income only, no dependents. Hang in there everyone, they seem to be working through the backlog slowly but surely!

That's encouraging to hear! I'm also in the OKC metro area and filed around the same time. Did you get any notification before the deposit hit your account, or did it just show up? I keep checking my bank account obsessively lol. Also glad to hear TFCU is processing them quickly once they get released!

@Sebastián Stevens No notification at all - it just appeared in my account when I checked Monday morning! I was doing the same obsessive checking thing lol. The Oklahoma Tax Commission website still showed processing "even" after I got the deposit, so don t'rely on their status tool. TFCU did process it the same day it was sent though. Hopefully yours comes through soon!

Filed mine on 2/7 and still waiting here in Lawton. Week 4 now with direct deposit to First National Bank. My return is pretty basic - just W-2 income and standard deduction. Starting to get worried since some people who filed after me are already getting theirs. Anyone else from the Lawton area heard anything? The waiting is killing me since I need it for some unexpected medical bills that came up.

Hey @Jamal Harris, I'm not in Lawton but I'm in a similar situation - filed 2/5 and still waiting on week 5. It seems like the processing is really inconsistent this year. Some people are getting theirs in 4 weeks, others are waiting 6+ weeks even with basic returns. I wouldn't worry too much about people who filed after you getting theirs first - from what I'm seeing it's not strictly first-in-first-out. The new fraud detection system they mentioned seems to be causing random delays. Hopefully yours comes through soon, especially with those medical bills! 🤞

Filed on 2/4 and got mine this morning! Took exactly 4 weeks to the day. Used direct deposit with Arvest Bank here in Broken Arrow. Pretty standard return - just W-2 and took the standard deduction. I was starting to get anxious since I've been seeing all the posts about delays, but it finally came through. For anyone still waiting, it seems like they really are processing them, just much slower than usual. Hang in there! 🙏
