Michigan State Tax Return - Mailed Feb 7 - Anyone know processing timeframe?
I mailed my Michigan state tax return on February 7th and still haven't received anything. No updates online either. Getting worried since I usually get it pretty quick when I e-file. Anyone know how long paper returns are taking to process this year?

Paper returns are taking 6-8 weeks minimum for processing in Michigan right now. They have to manually enter all the data, verify everything, and then process the refund. If you want to track it, you can use the Michigan Treasury website, but it won't show up in their system until they actually open and process your return.

Hey, have you tried using taxr.ai? Its an AI tool that can analyze your transcripts and give you a really clear picture of whats going on. Costs a buck but totally worth it for the peace of mind https://taxr.ai

•How accurate is it? Like does it actually tell you when youll get your refund?

•Super accurate! It looks at all your transcript codes and tells you exactly whats happening and when to expect your money. Way better than trying to figure it out yourself

Pro tip: NEVER mail your returns if you can efile. Your basically asking to wait forever

I feel your pain! Filed mine paper on Feb 5th and still waiting too. Called the Michigan Treasury helpline yesterday and they said they're running about 8-10 weeks behind on paper returns due to staffing issues. The automated system won't even show your return until they physically scan it into their system, which could be weeks from when they receive it. Hang in there - at least we'll get our refunds eventually!
