IRS Refund Check Mailed Nov 1 - Still Not Received. What to Do?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my tax refund. I was told a check was mailed to me on November 1st, but it's been a while and I still haven't received it. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next? I'm thinking about calling the IRS to see if they can help track it down or maybe reissue it. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I had a similar issue last year. Definitely call the IRS and ask them to initiate a trace on the check. They can usually track it down or reissue it if it's been lost in the mail. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! How long did the trace process take for you?

It took about 6 weeks for them to complete the trace and reissue my check. Not quick, but at least I got my money eventually!

6 weeks?! 😱 That's crazy long. The IRS needs to get their act together smh

I found a method to get someone on the phone at the IRS. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Jc9x-gysK0

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but it really worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time.

Pro tip: If you haven't already, set up an online account with the IRS. You can check the status of your refund and see if there are any issues. Might save you a phone call!

Have you checked your mail carefully? Sometimes those gov checks come in really plain envelopes that look like junk mail. I almost threw mine away once! 😅

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 2. Request a payment trace (Form 3911) 3. Be prepared to provide: - Your Social Security number - The tax year - The date the refund was mailed - The amount of the refund They'll investigate and either find your check or issue a new one. It can take up to 6 weeks, but it's worth it to get your money. Also, for future reference, consider direct deposit. It's faster and more secure than paper checks. Good luck!

Have you tried sacrificing a goat to the IRS gods? I hear that speeds up the process 🐐🔮

Friendly reminder to everyone: always keep your address updated with the IRS. You'd be surprised how many people forget this and wonder why they're not getting their mail!
