IRS Mailing Address Missing Apt Number - How to Fix?

Hey everyone, I just realized my mailing address on file with the IRS is missing my apartment number. I'm worried this might mess up my refund check. Has anyone dealt with this before? What should I do?

I found a way to solve IRS address update issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JopJ4i--l9g

No worries, it's an easy fix! Just call the IRS and let them know about the missing apartment number. They'll update your address in their system. Make sure you have your social security number and any relevant tax info handy when you call.

Easier said than done lol. Have you tried calling the IRS lately? It's like trying to win the lottery 🤣

For real tho. I spent 3 hours on hold last week and still didn't get through. The struggle is real 😭

Oof, my bad. I guess things have changed since I last dealt with them. Anyone know a better way to get in touch?

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

Pro tip: You can also update your address online through the IRS website. Go to irs.gov and look for the 'Change My Address' option. Might save you some time and headache!

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. My refund check got sent back cuz of a wrong address. Now I'm stuck in limbo waiting for them to resend it. This whole system is a joke 🤡

Here's what you need to do: 1. Try updating your address online first at irs.gov/myaccount 2. If that doesn't work, you'll need to call 1-800-829-1040 3. Have your social security number, old address, and new address ready 4. Be prepared to verify your identity 5. Ask them to confirm when the change will take effect 6. If your refund has already been sent, ask about the process for getting it reissued Remember, patience is key. The IRS is dealing with a huge backlog, so everything is taking longer than usual. Good luck!

Have you tried sending a carrier pigeon with your updated address? Might be faster than dealing with the IRS 🕊️😂
