EDD sent letter with wrong employer address - How to fix before phone interview?

I got a letter about my unemployment claim, but the address for my last employer is wrong. I need to fix this before my phone interview so my payments don't get delayed. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do?

I found a way to solve incorrect employer address issue, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-X-y8Y_0wA

Ugh, I had the same issue last year. It's such a pain to deal with. Have you tried calling the EDD office? They should be able to update the info for you.

I've been trying to call all day but can't get through. It's so frustrating!

Yeah, calling is a nightmare. Maybe try early in the morning? That worked for me once.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

It worked for me! Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

20 bucks? That's highway robbery! The system is so broken 😤

I get it, but think about how much time and stress it saves. For me, it was totally worth it.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Take pictures of the incorrect letter. 2. Try to contact EDD through their online portal first. Sometimes you can update info there. 3. If that doesn't work, you'll need to call. Be persistent. 4. During your phone interview, explain the situation right away. 5. Follow up with a written statement if possible. Don't panic if your payments get delayed a bit. They'll usually backpay you once it's sorted out. Good luck!

Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It might come in handy later.

Have you checked if there's a way to submit a correction online? Sometimes theres forms for this kinda thing on the EDD website. Might save you some time compared to calling.

Pro tip: if you do end up having to call, try using a autodialer app. It'll keep redialing until you get through. Saved my sanity when I was dealing with EDD last year!

I used one called 'Auto Redial' on Android. Not sure about iPhone options tho.
