How long to receive mailed tax refund check vs direct deposit? Anyone get theirs recently?

I chose to get my refund by mail instead of direct deposit. Starting to regret that decision. Its been 3 weeks since my transcript updated to refund issued. Anyone know the typical wait time for a paper check vs direct deposit? Starting to get worried.

However, some regions are experiencing delays up to 2-3 weeks due to USPS staffing issues. Next time, definitely choose direct deposit - it's typically received within 24-48 hours of the issued date.

Called IRS yesterday - they said standard time is 4 weeks but could take up to 6 if theres any postal delays in your area
