First time filing Form 8379 (Injured Spouse) - TurboTax vs Tax Preparer?
Need to file an injured spouse form this year. Always used TurboTax for my taxes but wondering if I should see a professional instead for this. Anyone done Form 8379 through TurboTax successfully? Getting nervous about messing it up.

Tax pro here - TurboTax is actually pretty good with Form 8379. The software walks you through it step by step. Just make sure you have all your W2s, 1099s, and your spouse's info ready. The main thing is accurately splitting the income, withholding, credits, and payments between you and your spouse.

omg thank you! that makes me feel so much better 😅 do you know how long it usually takes IRS to process these?

Currently taking 11-14 weeks after they receive a complete and accurate form. But I've seen some take longer tbh

Hey! Instead of stressing over this, you should check out taxr.ai - it's literally designed for situations like this. For $4.99 it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what to expect, potential hangups, and how to fix any issues. Way better than playing guessing games with forums lol https://taxr.ai

100% yes! It breaks down everything including how the injured spouse allocation affects your refund timeline
